oh, i didnt know that. And it doesnt make too much sense to me although i accpt it. 'Season' tickets would imply that that the only sensibe time to buy would be at the start of the season and this number couldnt go down until next season.

I'm sure the fan base would change though, and possibly been lumped together here.

Actually, for all professional teams you can buy season tickets at any time. They adjust what you pay for the current season and it's a recurring commitment from both sides, so i don't see where the problem is.

However, the number of season ticket holders changes continuously, just it's only being displayed once a season (the change, that is)

What's your source on this?

This is not too hard to deduce by just looking at attendance numbers, and assuming that 'season tickets holders' is just the basketball equivalent of the fan club in HT.

Of course, everything that cannot be tangibly proven is speculation, but I think this is a pretty good educated guess.

Believe it or not, they don't.

It's a static number for the whole season.

Now that's a good answer.

I was going to argue from the other side based on the fact that the season ticket numbers only update once a season, but I see they're labelled on the economy page as "Number of Season Ticket Holders (as of the beginning of the season)" which carries the implication that they do update during the season, but aren't shown.

Well, my approach to stuff has always been: if it is not explicitly stated how it works, look at its HT counterpart and see whether it could potentially be the same. Since these two are sister games, this is more likely to be right rather than wrong. But of course, it doesn't work all the time

I tried to find the thread I read about this long long time ago. It's true it was referring to the fan base, not to tickets holders but I think they work the same.

However, the search features in this forum are not very helpful.

In that thread there was a BB intervention in which it was stated that while salaries get only updated twice a season, the fan base gets continuously adjusted based on performance

The fan mood is constantly updated, but the actual STH value is not.

I got clarification on the STH question.

Fan Base is the value that helps determine how many fans you get to your games. It changes based on performance.

Season Ticket Holders are a snapshot of the Fan Base number at the time of the STH update.

However, that STH also means that you'll never sell less seats than whatever your STH is, regardless of how much your Fan Base tanks.
