I was at the point where i needed to rebuild my team seasons ago and had to decide how to build the team. The only thing i know was that i didnt want to build a LI team. And without knowing if it could work i started building for outside offense.
There was a lot of managers that said it couldnt be done cause the game is broken and......
Well as my team started to take form i started to win and that without extreme salary.
So outside offense can work well if you get the right team for it.
The problem doesnt lie in if this or that offense works or not. It's about what players are available. And as the public tone is that LI is the only thing that works and teams that want to play outside uses the same type of players as inside teams does there is nothing strange with the fact that inside works better as the players are built for it.
Training of players must change and we need to see more different players on the game. If that happens we will see a game where managers will be able to play more type of offenses.
However i feel like there has been a larger use of different offenses after the implementation of GDP.
Lets hope it continues to develop in that direction and that more managers see that we can do something different with our team.
+1
I agree that there has, imo, been more tactics variation since the introduction of the GDP...which has to be a good thing. I think the high priced players are simply reflective of an adjusting economy post-intro of Utopia. These are changes but not negative ones. As managers trying to play this game we simply need to adjust.
I believe BB is trying to make this a better game and implementing changes slowly and somewhat tentatively is exactly what one would expect given this great game needs to be tweaked cautiously so as not to negatively impact on the game we currently love.
To my American colleagues I say that while you are entitled to voice your opinion and even vent a little you also need to always keep in mind that this game functions very well already. Yes, there are things that could be improved...yes, there are things that may improve the game if implemented...however, I'm sure you'd agree that implementing any change that lessens managers' experience could have long term affects like loss of managers. BB needs to act slowly, cautiously and with surety.
Is BB dying a slow death...the title of this thread I created...No, I don't believe so. It's simply an adjustment period. And, as has been suggested before...perhaps the weeding out of players who aren't serious about BB accounts for the drop in player numbers.
So, are you a weed or a flower in this great garden?
