Well I think this new system is fantastic!

But is it just my league or are the rookies much MUCH MMMUUUCCCHHH worse this season?

Of my 5 ball players before any scouting, 8 are 19. I scouted the other 2 one was 2 ball skill, the other was only 4 not 5 but is one ball potential. Awesome!

Did the Group Demonstration thing because everyone said they got a ton of 5 ball guys from it. Two, both 19 too. Cool!

I have scouted very close to every single 18 year old in the draft, and there is only one with 5 ball skill, potential I will find out in a week.

somewhere you stated that there were 10 weeks of scouting accumulated....are we not in week 14?
so would there not be that many weeks?
I should have had about 29 points....I did the combine thing (10 points) then later logged in and only had 9 points.

stay tuned????

Last season had a different system for the draft. Your spending on scouting last season was not lost; it resulted in you getting the information that you had for the draft last season. That's the way scouting worked in the past - there were no points, just once the draft information was available each team received different amounts of scouting information (covering all of the 48 players randomly) based on how much they had spent.

No, I think you misunderstand. For EVERYBODY in season 12, you can't spend scouting points. The system spends it for you, most probably by random. Being able to spend your points is only for this new system. And by new, I mean today. From the beginning of BB to yesterday, no one was able to spend their points. This whole spending thing only got implemented TODAY.

From a rating standpoint...(for people with higher skill)...

Would you rate a really good performance on paper, better than the scout?

Like if i guy score 20 points, no turnovers, 4 assists/4 rebounds in 30 min. Scout gives him 4 or 3 balls. But gives this guy with like 8 turnovers and 4 points 5 balls.

I would send a scout personally to him or no--which is really better?

Scout assessment from watching or paper stats?

(Leaning towards paper stats)

I think that the boxscore tells you the skills the player has. If you see someone shoot 4 3-pointers then he probably has average or respectable JR and a decent JS. If he has 8 TOs, maybe pitiful handling. If you see 5 fouls, maybe he's one of those physical types. You get my drift. I would rank them first by age/potential, then by rating. If both are the same, the boxscore will be the tie-breaker.

If you didn't make a comment about cashing in on the mistake...then the comment wasn't for you.

The new system looks great. I love the group demo feature - it really gives those of us who finish higher up a chance to score big in the draft. Though I have to say its pretty unfair what happened with some people getting their points reset simply because they were in the negative. I had 10 points left after the system was 'fixed' so I'm not complaining but I totally get that some others are really frustrated.

Anyhow I would just like to know two things about the system for now:
1) How exactly will bot teams pick players
2) How will inactive teams pick players (if there's a difference)

So everyone who was fast enough and know how to use print screen just get their points resetted? I would like to know how many users were refunded? I think redoing the draft would be the best solution. So with a few interview clicks I would have all the knowledge + the points resetted? Even shuffleing the draft list will give you all the info you gathered if you use the combine. Ages and heights will give you all the info you need for comparing the draft lists.
Even if there are minimal overspenders, what can you say to there leaguemates? Is it fair? Those who have used their points and found some great prospects obviously would not like the draft to be revamped. I used my points carefully, but it bothers me that my leaguemates could of been quickfingers and got all the info + points back. I had 48 points to spend (I knew the right number was 20 so I did not overspend), should I have tryed to overscout? It was a bad choise to leave the system up, when you encountered the problem you should have sayd right away that it's a test and revamp the whole draft when you got it fixed.
There is no good solution now, as you really missed out on the correct time to act. I found a few good prospects, but I'd rather give them up knowing someone could have abused the system.
