this is what i mean

yes i criticised the player and? I also praised the player.

why do you and he both read it as condescending and why do not all read it as condescending.

the saying in english is, a glass is half full or half empty. the point is not so much how i write it but the point that i am trying to get across. I never mention a 2 million player. I never mentioned a 1 million player.

a trainee starting like this

18 yr old, tall enough for big training and superstar or better potential

mediocre JS mediocre JR
average OD mediocre HN
medicore DV inept PS
inept IS inept ID
inept RB inept SB

doesnt cost alot. You need to look for him/her. but he wont cost a million, i doubt he will cost 500k

Yes he will not look like his player the way he is at 20, because his inside stats are probably lower than the player he trained, but he will be at 21 at that level, that means when he is finished, he will be finished one year later than this player. but i can guarantee you that he will fetch more money than the player with 2 times atrocious skills. more importantly he will have a better chance to make it into the NT if he wants to keep this player.

I don't see what's so difficult to understand here. All Astro said was that it isn't worth buying a trainee with such bad secondaries (if you plan to train him to train him for the NT), because he has next to no chance of making the NT, there's nothing more too it. At U21 level, secondaries are less noticeable, but at full NT level, it's vital to have competent secondary skills.

It's not a criticism in the guys training of the player, just the choice in trainee.

no offence ment to the trainer off this player.
his inside skills have been perfectly trained for his age
, but look at the secondaries. isnt it possible to buy a 18 yr old one with inept or mediocre in secondaries instead and train him?

this is such a waist for both the owner and the NT...

i apologise in advance in case my english sends condescending, secondly i praise his player and the training he has done and thirdly i never talked about the player not being good enough for the U21, I am talking from the NT perspective.

Please tell me how I could have worded this differently so that for you three this would have been more understandable??? I seriously dont know how else I could have worded my message to try and solve the problem we have in the NT, and that is that we have too many unfinished, unbalanced players...

If nobody bought a trainee like this, and everyone bought a trainee with good secondaries, the price of the player with good secondaries wouldnt br worth paying! He'd simply cost too much!
And as for the player Astra put up; Surely he is a guard trainee not a big man? But i suppose its all down to height, and a player like that will almost certainly not be tall enough to consider training him..

nope

that was why I was talking about the NT as National Team coach.

Secondly it is nice to train players for the U21 and have them used in the U21 for 1 season and than never be used for the NT. But is this the way forward for the NT?

How about something along the lines of:
This is a great English prospect, that has been trained beautifully in inside skills. However - if you want this player to make the NT level, he will need some HA and PA training.
That would sound better.

Im sure you didnt mean it in a nasty way - but when a person trains a player as his 1st priority for 2 and a bit seasons, its not very nice for someone just to say that he is 'such a waste'

why would you not consider training him? yes like i said, he will be finished 1 season later than a player with better inside skills.

i clearly said a player with stats like that but with the good height for training a big player. do you have any idea how fast a player pops with a level 5 or a level 6 trainer, being very tall, with such skills?

why cant a tall player have decent inside skills? i cant be bothered to show you all these players, but have a look on the TL, they pop up often enough...

Like I said, I will train some english players myself, because the consensus clearly is that a player that i gave as an example isnt good enough to be trained...

saying he is such a waste or saying he is a waste for NT are 2 very distinct different things...

I can show you many players that are nice players, but that in some way or the other are waisted for the NT. but lets not get started there...

A tall player is always going to have better insides than out! But the player you posted didn't. And what are the chances of finding a player thats tall, but has better outsides than insides? And thats worth training?

I hardly know anyone that writes posts on forums like that... Forum posts generally are short and to the point.

First off all I am very direct, this is how the dutch society is. Sorry for that.

Secondly English isnt my first language.

Thirdly I am not a bad person that wants to be condescending or rude or whatever.

If you know all three points, and if you see the glass as half full. Than you can respond differently to my post as well...
