It's just an example of extremely poor deductive reason and logic.

It's not susceptible to layups. Why would you play 2-3? To counter LI.

LI = Driving layups.

Most people won't even play 2-3 against an even neutral offense, and against an outside offense it's considered suicide.

I highly doubt the Motion offense would replicate the success of driving layups as the LI offense does against the 2-3.

That said, it'd destroy you from outside.

Yes, that is true. After listening to all those people complain about 2-3 allowing driving guards and open 3s, I analyzed many games and comparing 2-3 to man to man, the number of drives by the guards were quite close, therefore shows that almost everyone who claims 2-3 is crap is talking crap. However, it does leave your team vulnerable to a lot of 3s...

Well, a lot of threes is what you give up when playing 2-3 zone. But I would prefer that as opposed to giving a lot of inside shots

I don't really get where he says Base Offense is the strongest offense. It's clear in the GE that the best offense is solely dependent on your personnel. And not by being flawed either.

I think the concept is something like that every other tactic adds a bonus to some part of your offense, but has a bigger drawback. For example (with completely made up numbers), maybe with Motion you get a 15% bonus to outside shooting and a 20% penalty to inside shooting. So, technically it's a weaker offense because it has more in penalties than in bonuses.

Of course, if you then factor in your team, though, if you have strong outside offense and practically zero inside attack, the 20% is of almost nothing while the 15% is a major upgrade, in which case that improves your overall ratings and performance quite a bit.

The best way of thinking about it is that Base Offense is always the strongest offense, unless something else is. ;)
