On the topic of the PR issue from the OP, that kinda gives credit to the issue he was talking about in terms of BB needing more representatives of non-English speaking users.

Absolutely, and as you pointed out there simply are not enough resources to do that. Some improvement for a single language or two is certainly possible and that can be gained by having one extra person (but even that means a lot of money).

I should have added already above that creating parallel communication channels in all (major) BB languages is not a task we can put on the shoulders of the LA staff. I believe they are more than worth their supporter packages (as also demonstrated by Wolph's examples). The site translation for most part is a fixed target with fairly small additional ongoing work. The effort to get a new language done is quite a big one (although there are examples of getting it done very quickly), but after that the workload is what we can reasonably expect from volunteers. Not much more, I'm afraid.

Facilitating better communications in a dependable and timely way is closer to a full time job in my opinion. And how much better would things get anyway? I would imagine there is already quite a lively extra translation effort in the forums by the volunteering staff and many other users who like the game and know English. Perhaps not for all languages but for many anyway. In some forums some users may also do translation between other major BB languages (e.g. Italian to Spanish) when they spot an interesting discussion. At least nothing prevents them from doing it. This is not LA work in my books, such effort is more a sign of a strong community. Let's encourage that instead of trying to cover things with "official committee work".
