The youth academy system works fine in HT, there's no situations of the rich getting richer, or anything like that. It works as intended without any of those negative points you raised being an issue.

Is the training fine aswell in HT, or is it train one skill type of game? How is that any fun.
Is there a draft system in soccer? Why should they copy academy system from a soccer game, when NBA uses draft system?
I would be ok with academys, as long as the young players developed there, get signed to draft. Everyone can draft them. The team drafting him would have exact skill info though.
