Yeah, my first game said 100% but was a few seats from a true 100%, the second was capacity.

Taken from Wikipedia, the average attendances for the five highest divisions in the English soccer pyramid (two years ago except for the EPL):

Premier League: 35,931
Championship: 17,738
League One: 7,358
League Two: 4,408
Conference National: 2,020

And it only goes down from there. In the earliest rounds of the FA Cup, where they have teams from divisions 9 and 10, attendances are usually lower than 100. In other major countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain), the drop-offs from tier to tier are even more pronounced.

If you wanted to scale this to BB, you'd have to reduce everything by at least half, since soccer stadiums commonly have a much higher capacity than basketball stadiums.

It makes me wonder what if new BB teams started with an arena capacity of 1,000 or 2,000.

Good research. So even though that's a closer comparison in terms of league structures, it's not very helpful for giving us guidance in how to improve our system.

I think starting with arenas that small would make budgeting nearly impossible because you couldn't earn enough.

Yes. The only way to make it work would be to put worse players with lower salary on the starting rosters. We'd have to find the point where a team is just talented enough to be marginally competitive without being prohibitively expensive compared to revenue. Certainly an arena of 1,000 couldn't support any kind of competitive team.

Maybe an extra ability to change the Playoff prices to go to the playoff teams only for Home Games, might help against Tanking as well if the Tanking teams miss out on this opportunity?

Just a thought.

What I meant is that we keep the Arena price updates as they are. And make a special option available to playoff home teams with a playoff algorithm to raise attendance, I still think a 60/40 split for home playoffs is better.

The reason for the special playoff ability is that, to get high attendance number for regular games after the mid season update, you can't be as aggressive as you should be able to in the playoffs, therefore you leave cash on the table one way or another.

And I think it would be the simplest change to make and easiest way to solve all these debates over the unfairness.

I agree
A one of extra change to be done for playoffs makes sense to me. And a 60/40 split also is the way to go.
