Pretty simple, you guess wrong on focus.

Here are three over the past week I would all like to have a mulligan on

(85577636) this guy is a stylistic nightmare for me as is, we both went TIE but IF I had guessed GDP on focus it would have tipped the scales

(85577643) on this one had the focus and pace, but did myself in with a crappy plan of attack, motion or RNG allow my boys to hold serve.

(85577652) another case of not pulling the trigger, if I was going to take this guy down this was the chance, again pissed it away.

I think RSX has been rewarded by the BB-Gods due to his efforts on NT Scout.

In any case it's closer than you think and he had better efficiency (which is a better indicator than ratings and bb-stats). BB-stats 137-127 to you, but overall efficiency 93-78 to him. Notably his PP100 ratings were better than yours and his SF took most of the shots unfortunately for you. It's strange that your big men PP100 was so low despite you had a Prolific team rating vs a Proficient defense (6 bbstats difference right there)...it may be due to your low Flow, to some defensive swaps on his part or to SB on his defenders.

Games where the losing team tops both ratings and efficiency and still loses are the baffling ones.

Edit: No defensive swaps, but if I'm not wrong, looking at the play by play your C scored 0 FGA when guarded by his starting C (he was fouled a few times)

Can anyone explain how did I lose this game?
(85928830)

Sure my backcourt lost one key player to injury last game out, but still I dont expect my backcourt which consists of players of 100k salary, 15k salary and 26k ( and improving) salary to be outplayed while 2 out of those 3 is in best game shape, by players under 10k salary in fair game shape...
Opponent got an advantage down low maybe, but I got outplayed by outside strategy. I TIE-d, but my motivation was at 8, which is fairly good, I doubt the opponent was any higher.

Edit:
Put the link.

Your player's FT were horrible. And in fact you had to throw them very often in this match. If you could score 70% of them (which is an average level of this skill), you would have 8 points more, I think. With better FT you had a much bigger chance to win. You have to decide, what could cause its: low FT level or just unlucky day.

I know there's much more things to consider there, for example, why your opponent had even better percentage of FG/3P than you despite worse offence. But I think, that I would have to go deeper in analysis to find any cause of this situation. Your FT percentage is the easiest explanation of this problem.

Nearly lost this one.187-168 BB-Stats in my favour. PP100 very much in my favour at 4 positions out of 5 (including the 3 key ones). 97-81 efficiency in my favour. GDP in my favour. Effort in my favour. Base enthusiasm also in my favour.....good job GE+Ratings.

Hello I have a question for 2 games:

Would i have won this one without using GDP

Would i have lost this one without GDP

Does anyone know how strong GDP is? How much it really gives you an advantage?

I doubt you win the first game without correct GDP as the difference was very big with 2 incorrect guesses. The only way I can think you win without GDP is if his PG takes many more shots than he did and Patient comes back to bite him...

The same way I think you won't lose the second game even without GDP. Big difference there as well.

I've seen different theories about the effect of GDP, but everyone seems to agree that the overall effect is about 10% extra defense, if you get 2 correct guesses. Some say it's +-7% for correct focus guess and +-3% for correct pace guess, others say it's more 5%/5%. I'm personally inclined to think that focus gives a little more than pace, but I have done no experiments on the subject.

I lost this game, especially the 4th quarter (19 - 37). Why did my C (27772970) perform so bad? His salary is around 150K, so I expect he would score 15 points and grab 15 rebounds (or something similar) under look inside strategy.

His rating is not bad, and the points per 100 shots is better than the opponent's C. How come he did not perform very well?

mediocre (medium) Outside Scoring prominent (medium)
prolific (high) Inside Scoring respectable (medium)
strong (high) Perimeter Defense prominent (low)
proficient (high) Inside Defense proficient (medium)
strong (high) Rebounding respectable (low)
average (medium) Offensive Flow respectable (high)

I would say you need more passing on your team in general and/or your point guard.
Your average (medium) flow didn't cut it against his prominent (low) perimeter defense. That is quite a large gap.

When your center takes 8 shots in a game in LI, he isn't getting the ball enough. Plus he had 5 turnovers, so his handling must not be the best (though it was his worst game of the year) and when he does get the ball, he fumbles it away.

Maybe just a bad matchup against the other center's defense, or just a bad game spit out from the GE for him.

Perhaps see if it is a trend that the other center holds his opponent to sub-par games, or just that your game stands out as being very unlucky. I'm tired and writing this is using my last points of BB energy for the night.

(87673393) ... I know it's an away playoff game, but my team had better game rating and players had better rating too.

3rd quarter is a mystery.
