I mean it does have an effect now (albeit not a large one) Last Seasons performance count towards your fan survey ball count which then in turn influences ticket sales. It would be nice if that had a noticeable effect, even a measurable one so more value could be placed on 4th. I still think I'd still rather keep the salary payments.

indeed it does already have an effect. but it doesnt seem big enough as you say. However if the effect is greater as you highlighted, and then possibly combined with a 100-150k bonus for team making a PO appearance in d2. Say 75-100k for d3. 50-75k for d4. and so on

surely it would be more appealing to finish 4th than 5th that way? i always take 4th over 5th because i prefer to win, and every win keeps the fans happy

I though I would be demoted this season and nearly tanked. I'm happy with finishing 4th just to day that I did it. From now on probably go for 5th though.

I also play a cricket game called Battrick and depending on where you finish there is a bonus at the end of the season. I much prefer BB in everyway but this fiasco with teams gunning for 5th place over making playoffs is pretty ridiculous really. As it is, teams need to weigh up making a loss but have a better "last season" report, against making no loss and having a worse report. No brainer? I think so.

Personally I would like to see bonuses for the top 4 teams in each conference (more for finishing higher), to entice teams to push harder for finals. It's too easy to just sit back for a season or two in 5th, saving cash and building towards a big push at the title. If there was a little more visible incentive, managers may be more inclined to take chances, in order to finish higher on the ladder. No way should 5th better more attractive than 3rd or 4th.

Battrick has certainly lost a lot of my attention, really only keep at it because I started my team so long a go. Actually start that back before I began BB. We used to have an internal clan league comp that we ran with up to 20 odd teams in it. A couple of those guys play BB.

BB has better p2p interraction for starters, which makes it far more enjoyable on that alone. BB takes up way more of my attention these days!

I mean games like battrick just piss me off since people with membership or supporters have actual in game advantages and the crappy site that rarely get updated certainly doesnt help. basically any game with bad training system just dont work for me...

anyways BB rules. playoffs time people. and allsort, definately try getting the 4th spot rather than 5th, the 1 week of not playing salaries certainly doesnt compare to the income you get in the playoffs. 5th spot is still the worst spot.

Are you kidding? He will have to pay a whole weeks wages and will only get 1/3 of the profits from Aussies home court. At a guess he'll get somewhere just over $100k, minus his wages and that puts him at a loss for the week right?

If he finishes 5th then there will be no requirement to pay wages at all. He won't gain anything but he won't lose anything either.

you still pay the wage. the first week of playoffs.

its 1 week not 2 weeks. I had 5th place 2 seasons ago. 4th have to pay for the playoff week but they get 1/3 income, 5th have to pay too without the income. then the week after you dont have to pay neither does the guy that got knocked out off the playoffs.
