Homegrown is so much fun.
Impossible to be the best.
But fun compete at your level.
I have managed to go up to the top div in my country a few times.
I will be very happy if I do it again.

"To all of the fellow home grown teams, do you typically train guys to their max potential? Like would you take the time to train a HOF or MVP player or is it better to train slightly less potential so that you can train more guys over the long run?"

I trained just about everyone fairly young for many season and many players. I still have some of them in my team. For a while now I train NT's. Hence it is thrilling as a homegrown team to perhaps get some luck with youths and train them hard and long. Tactics vary over season. And yes a homegrown team need to plan a head. My inside players are very old now and I will start training that position. Fun it is. I even like the age-drops and plan for that.

Finally going to II league with HG team. That was long run, but it was worth trying.

Needless to say it will also test your patience. Many times during a season it can be demoralizing to lose games when you are prioritizing youth and training but during those times you are also tempted to dip into your coffers and buy an expensive non-HG player and forget your goal for a while. But in the end, your victories feel more satisfying when you've worked blood and sweat to build your squad from the ground up.
