Not sure why you would think his first post was arrogant.. if anything, ridiculing him for making a good post explaining his decision like that makes Canada look bad.

Really??? Thanks, but I am done discussing this. Clearly the loss sucked for Canada and I did not think the post was appropriate at the time. Sadly the Canadian forums are so dead that this is one of the only topics posted in in almost a week. Please anyone post something else, anywhere, anytime soon :)

BTW OchO_CinCo rather than rehash an oldish thread why don't you comment on the on goings of the National team or the U21 team? Just a thought!

I understand your frustration and am totally with you on why you feel the way you do. As NT manager though, maybe this isn't the stance to take in this instance. Being defensive usually doesn't end up being the best way to deal with things. I hope Canada recovers from this and does well in the consolation tourney. Getting upset about a certain comment, that was bound to happen at some point, doesn't seem like the best solution. People will always be upset, and you can't please everyone. I think the best way to move by this is just to move on and do the best that Canada can do from here on out, rather than taking offense to a post and somewhat looking down on the original poster (your last remarks come off kind of harsh and sarcastic).

Sorry if my comments made things worse, I think you are doing a good job managing the national team. My only comment is that you can't take criticism personally, because there will ALWAYS be critics when you hold a high level position. Good luck in the future.

Also, at the same time, GM-beanerz already apologized for jumping conclusions. He misunderstood the tone of what JoeMaverick was saying, and it really isn't a big deal. It`s hard to detect things like sarcasm over an internet forum.

Thanks for the post Griffin. I don't disagree with you that it is time to move one, but honestly I am just happy to see Canada posting negative or not :) You saying my last remark is harsh or sarcastic is the exact same as me commenting about the original post from the Belguim use. Interpretation is everything, and in this case it is genuine and not meant to be anything but a comment.

Congrats to Belgium on another huge win today. They managed to beat Argentina by a final of 97-90, once again they did use more effort but it is still a big victory.

If we had to lose we might as well root for the team that knocked us out! Keep it up fella's!

Today the consolation round got off to a good start, with a 102-82 victory against Bosnia. Even with our Run and Gun offense, Richards and Demers were our best scorers, and led the way on both ends of the court for us.

With the default 0-2 start from being in the repechage, we are now up to 1-2. Next week we will be playing a tough road game against Israel, at 10:55 AM server time, and hopefully will be able to put up another strong performance.

Belgium beating Argentina today is also an interesting development. I'm not sure if they crunched again, or managed to win with a normal (against a TIE), but either way, that's a great result on the road against the tournament hosts.

Nice free throw shooting, Hong Kong.

The greatest of all time.

After our loss on the road to Israel last week, we're in a must win situation every week the rest of the way. Today against Hong Kong, the bounces went our way, and we pulled out an exciting 89-88 win on the road.

The details of the game were a bit strange. Hong Kong destroyed us at possession differential, while also shooting the ball well, going 39-81 from the field. Luckily for us, they were a disastor at the free throw line, with only 9 of 26 attempts going in. Our own shooting from the field was even better than Hong Kong's, as we hit 39 of only 69 shot attempts. We also knocked in 10 FTs on only 15 attempts. Our superior percentages were the difference in the game.

Our PF/Cs had a great night, combining for 58 of our points. Wilbur had an amazing 27 on 11-15 shooting, with Richards adding 23 on 9-15, and Demers putting up 8 on 4-6. The only significant source of "misses" for us was Herman Kearns, who still managed to go 5-13 for 11 points. The game winning shot, with 4 seconds left, was a jumper by Govardhan Mohan, who put up another solid performance. Richards then closed things out by successfully guarding a jump shot at the buzzer.

Next week, we get to play on our home court, with a game against Iran. Hopefully we can have another good game, and keep our chances of making the consolation round playoffs alive.
