Well, still it should be announced at least a half season in advance (more really but if there is thing needing a quick fix, half a season should do). Don't forget it is more about catching up with the upper division (e.g. I.1) not about competing with the lower one (e.g. II.x) for another promotion. There are some sevetre punishment after relegation for that.

The problem is level of prices on the market. But than again such sudden changes creates stock exchange sim like game more than fixing the problem. If they would announce "we will disable(make it harder to work) cut cost strategy by bringing minimum salary cap in" so everyone could prepare in advance, than ok. The game shouldn't be so much about hopping on the right train at right time (abd being flexible to do that and not be screwed).

It's hard to say whether it's low or not, if noone knows how it will work.
I expect that is minimum amount which will be paid by all team for salaries. So team with lower salaries than this amount will pay this amount for salaries. Or it should be also sum which will be paid by teams instead of salaries during playoff time in weeks without any league game.

This sounds like the game plan.
I say basing the TV Revenue (Which is an indicator of division strength) against a multiplier (Could be 1 or 1.5) will set up a nice approximation of the Salary Floor for that league.

Looks a bit too low.
The Salary Floor for my league is about 10% of my player salaries now.

Well I just promoted, and the PSF for me is 65% of my salaries.
I'm sure some teams can promote with less salaries than I did, so I don't think it's as cut and dry as you say.
Yes it's low, but you can't force promoting teams to buy players, either.

While I don't think the current floor is high enough to break the tanking strategy it's a good first step. Still think it would have made more sense to hit attendance harder when teams are losing every game by 75+

how many teams were sooooo successful by tanking? i think it was not a high percent. now it will be lower. but it's still an option. i think it's ok.

Depends what your definition of successful is, but I made about 7m last season tanking while doing some great training of young players that wouldn't have been possible while competing.

Ok so this year you will promote back. Then what? All your players will be 2 years older?

i do not see how you can't train players while not competing. you have scrimmages, you know?

Even better, I sold all my players almost 2 seasons ago. With the deflating economy what I got for them then is likely more then it would cost to buy back a similar player now. Not only did I make 7m, but the buying power of that money increased.

edit - this goes both ways though, in the rare chance the market starts to inflate its possible that this could be a losing strategy. There's no indication, even with changes the last couple offseasons that indicate a rebound to prices from 3+ seasons ago.
