so take the topic seriously and not discussing about the sense or nonsene of this thread.

If it makes no sense, it will die through the lack of activity.

Speed, Strength. These are things that at this point, are equal on all players it seems. I don't know about you guys, but I tend to find 5'11 people just a "wee" bit quicker than most 7' people. Likewise, I can't say I ever remember Mugsy Bogues ripping a rebound out of Patrick Ewings hands.

Speed can affect defense, driving, how often a player gets fouled, handling.
Strength effect rebounding, shot blocking, inside shot/defense

On top of that, what about some tactics like half-court traps, or 1-2-1-1 zones?

I don't think so. There are non existing, but when you create then now you had to eclude then from the skills who are already existing. I mean rebounding training have a lot to do with athletics, the difference betwen a legendary and a respectable rebounder isn't that the legendary guy can catch a ball who is droping toward his head. When he trained to be a good rebounder, he would also train his strength and leaping ability and not only how to use those tools.

in germany we had an Center who was 6" on paper, but comparing to me i would say he was even smaller, and he was top rebonder three years in a row. Then moved to another league repeating it ;)

Maybe you are saying that the german Bundesliga isn't that strong, but to be honest you couldn't train an elite center with 5"11 either through the training speed limitations and on lower division in germany there a lot of undersized american pro playing on the big spot(who played even in college more as a forward). I think it is the same here, there are small people who could compensate there disadvantage in small leagues, but making it to the elite is nearly as impossible as Charles Barkley was.

This is true.

The college I played at, I saw a center after I had graduated who was 6'4, and it was like... "really?" But, he is bad example perhaps, as he was not a top rebounder or anything like that, just really strong for his size.

In college this year, Andre Roberson not a particularly strong guy, 6'6-6'7 guard. but averaged more than 11 rebounds a game, because he had great instinct, timing, and jumping ability. But in Baylor game on ...Saturday? he got worked left and right, by worse rebounders, but the guys were bigger and stronger, so he couldn't get his normally great positioning.

I also saw NBA highlights yesterday of Gallinari breaking his thumb, on a block, where he blocked, got all ball, but the guy was still strong enough that he finished with the ball still for a dunk. Gallinari clearly not the stronger player in that showdown.

What about the speed aspect then, cause I see where you are coming from on the Strength side of it. Also, what do you think of the 2 defensive tactics as well?

But can you remember the time Michael Jordan totally rejected him and smacked the ball almost out of the arena with a volleyball spike?

Want something more extreme? 5'9" Nate Robinson blocked 7'6" Yao Ming!

You can easily find both on youtube.

1. Yao ming was doing a jumpshot, not trying to dunk.
2. Exception to rule kinda effect, but, noted a very good argument point too.

Of those choices I only really like communication although I think offensive and awareness is a better name. I think stealing should be a skill as well since blocking is.

My concern though is how to add these skills to existing players and all the changes that would need to be done would cost the bb team too much

I think blocking should be removed and driving and handling should be merged.

Cant think of a player with insane driving skills but now ability to handle the ball.
