to clarify what we did was this....

we took the number of weeks of all injuries and cut them in half.

we added in doctors skill into the formula which determines how severe the injury is (including the chance that the injury doesn't translate into an injury which lasts longer than the game).

This is equivalent to keeping the length of the injuries the same and speeding the healing process proportional to the doctors skill. It would not make sense to us to have the injury say 3 weeks and it to take less time than that. I think fundamentally what people are upset about is that they can't see progress of the injury getting better. We actually store the injury with a number which isn't an integer number of weeks. So sometimes things heal by less than 1 week, and so to you it appears it hasn't healed but indeed it has.

thanks for clarifying this. As you say, people were upset because they though doctors would speed the healing process (like in HT) and could not see the effect. :)

Regardless of my personal opinion on how injuries are dealt with in BB, thanks for clearing up the situation. At least know we all know exactly what is taking place and what to expect from an injured player.

We cut the injury times in half in a one time manner... we also adjusted the overall distribution of injuries in two ways... generally we made the a function of the doctor and made them less severe. So injuries that last 1/2 a season are a lot less frequent.

After 2 days of general slowness (not talking about servers...), we finally arrived to the beginning... what Newton07 said was right.

I had a player who was +3 at 2008/3/13.After the reduction, he changed to +1. Now one week has already passed,he is still at +1...

Which makes sense because 3/2 = 1.5, so it should take him approximately 10 days to heal completely.

Thanks, but not quite. I though the doctor would reduce the injury probability (like physiotherapist in HT) and speed up the healing (like doctors in HT). Here it works differently, although the final effect is similar.

Could a LA modify what is written is the rules?
Doctors help prevent player injuries, and help injured players recover more quickly.

This sentence is quite misleading. Many users are hiring a doctor after the injury has occurred and then complain because the player doesn't heal faster... and I think that reading the sentence above we can not blame them :)
