We´we got one fully homegrown team in Sweden as well (26577). After an expected slow start mid-season 18, he is now starting to get wins. Must say that all the homegrown coaches are true BB-heroes, in their own way.

I think it would be near impossible to make the highest division with 5 homegrown starters because you can only train 2 or 3 players to a decent level at any one time.

Here's one guy that made D2 with this strategy in mind. (25075)

Notice that he's never bought a single player on the transfer wire either. But it looks like it was a painfully slow process for him even to make it to the lower levels of D2.

Yeah i think it is practically impossible to reach a top league with only players you drafted. Buying other players from your own nation makes it way easier. In american leagues i dont think he would have even been able to get past D.III to play in the second division with his roster.

The problem from my perspective lies on making sure you have a career extension. Because you would most definitely have some guys 33+ in age to go with you mid age and your trainees etc still being trained...

True but in Div II USA leagues a good team usually has 50k starters in all positions and that is hard to develop with homegrown players because of salary caps and the fact that you can only train 3 players at a time.

Maybe strive for an all homegrown team except for three players.
That way, you keep yourself mostly homegrown, but you can use foreign players as a boost to get you to the next level.

Well..... Not necessarily only 3 at a time.... Quickest/most effective training yes... But not necessarily.

Course I myself am not running to do 2-pos trainings or more for everything with a world reknown trainer.
