I think the next change should be in tactics. I personally think that you should have control of the exact number of minutes each of your players play. When I say this I mean something like once you click on set your lineup have the current display but just add a bar so you can type how many minutes your player will play and the GE lets the player play the exact number of minutes , no more and no less but the catch would have to be you could only use it if you chose Strictly Follow Depth Chart for your Substitutions. Someone explain the pros and cons of this idea to me but I like it .. personally.

I see a few problems with this idea. If a game is coming down to the wire or is in overtime, and let's say your best player has reached his time limit. You could potentially lose games as a result of this. A second problem is injuries and foulouts. If your player gets injured, then a backup, reserve or player at another position would come in, and the minute rotation might get messed up. A third thing is garbage time. Suppose a player is on the bench and reaches his max amount of minutes. Just like the issue of foulouts/injuries/weird substitutions, the lineup may get screwed up.

I don't think it's a bad idea, but unfortunate things could happen.

Managing minutes is a part of this game. Don't worry, as you play this game longer you will get used to it, and you'll learn that it's actually quite easy.

Am I getting this right ? starters average 36 minutes , backups 24 and reserves somewhere between 10-12 minutes ? is that close ?

I was imagining getting each player around 50-65 minutes per week so I could train stamina or Free throw but at the same time everyone of my players would have strong-proficient gameshape

You are right about starters averaging around 36 minutes, but backups are the ones who average around 12. Reserves are normally used as reserves and I think they only play if the game isn't close, or there is an injury. (Remember that the combined amount of minutes for starters, backups, and reserves will always be 48 unless there is overtime.)

As Kilrtom has already stated in a different thread, stamina and free throw training does not require any minutes at all. You should still aim for 60-65 minutes every week to get optimal game shape, but as long as your players get 48-80 minutes a week their game shape will be at least respectable.

Since stamina and free throws train without player having toplay at all , does this mean that if I train free throw for 2 weeks every player on my team would pop 2x or would it be like training jump shot where it might pop 2x or it might not pop at all ?

Closer towards every other week (2 trainings = 1 pop)

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

Don't know why you addressed your post to me.

Making training slower will impress no-one. There were already groans to losing 10% to random cross-training.

It is fine how it is. It still takes a lot of dedication to get to that 140 number you posted. Even 120 is a climb.

If you remember me, then I don't care if everyone else forgets.

One of the changes I'd like to see is being able to set priority players in the offense (say your #1, #2, #3 scoring options). For example- you run a motion offense and have an extreme mismatch at a position. It would be nice to be able to try and get the offense to run through that player. The GE sort of already does this by looking for the best shot, but it would put another element in the manager's control. Would also put a higher emphasis on more well-rounded players and offensive flow, and in theory it could help lesser teams minimize some of the damage against better teams, particularly if they had 1 or 2 good players they wanted taking the bulk of their shots.
