Moot indeed.

As the season and wins progressed I was consistently selling out 19,000+ seats in D-V, easily. I was making over 150K in revenue. I often tanked to D-V for that reason while rebuilding and training draftees.

Empty seats can't wash your car.
Empty seats don't get you bonus travel miles.
Empty seats won't order you Chipotle.
Empty seats won't win you arguments on the internet.

Well - I built big. Selling about 80% right now and that's fine with me because I'm making a weekly profit while training my players.

Seven of your top ten players by salary are guards. The money you wasted on empty seats could have bought you a couple of pretty good bigs to balance out your roster and win a couple of more games this season, maybe even compete for promotion. Instead, you have nothing to show for that expenditure. Well, that's not exactly true, you have some nice shiny empty seats.

You have old players playing on your mediocre L.IV squad while you waste away a 18 year old MVP player. If you were tanking you would've sold him by now, if you were trying to build your team organically, you'd be playing him 48+ minutes. If you are training FT or ST, you are wasting his best training seasons on skills that would improve at the same speed ten seasons from now. Instead you are just watching an asset depreciate right in front of you.

Not trying to decrease your activity, but trying to tell very successful users they are wrong about how to play this game when your team is struggling isn't fair to new users looking for help in the forums.

Winning games does not help you promote, unless you have the assets to promote. Every dollar you spend above the salary floor on a team that doesn't win a championship, is a dollar you are flushing down the toilet that could have been used in the future to build a championship team. Every young trainable player you don't train is an asset that is depreciating, that could have been used in the future to build a championship team.

Your arena is fine. I would even consider building more before moving up to DIII. My minimum arena that I would want before promoting into DIII would be 12000/3500/500/35. Adding salary would just take away from your weekly profits. Once your arena is set, you can start stockpiling the cash you need to promote while you train your trainee.

Your issue with your ticket prices is not your seats. You need to lower your ticket prices for your LT, Courtside, and Luxury Boxes you will fill more. buzzer-manager.com has a tool you should check out that helps you set your arena prices. The next price change on Tuesday so do it tomorrow or Monday asap.
