Oh man, I didnt realize you were in that league. The rest of the field is chums. Was making me feel better about my team. Luckily, I still have a few days to come up with a good excuse for losing to preserve my sense of pride. I'm leaning towards forgot to set lineup or maybe blaming an unpredictable game engine. Will have to make a game time decision.


Yeah, the quality is definitely lacking. It's doubly frustrating since I'm actually able to field what would be my full-strength lineup thanks to no training concerns, so if I were in a league with some NBBA-level guys, I could see how it would hold up, at least offensively, since my ID would get torched.

Every season the cup goal for General's management is to make the "field" proper IE round of 64 so this is the game that in reality you play to get to. Will not be easy but depending on the GS break it is doable.

But first there is a little matter of a battle with hydro on Saturday night at the Coliseum. And this week in a effort to bolster the sagging attendence and flagging spirit of our fan base we are pulling out the polyester and pet rocks to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a cinematic release that was revolutionary, not to mention the first ever R rated movie I was ever taken. https://youtu.be/upreJjwag0g

Hmm, well not our greatest crowd but everyone did have a good time though Hydro probably wishes we had not given pet rocks to the first 500 thru the doors. Hey they love getting stoned, our fan base was just trying to comply.


And since it was so well received and since management is always happy to bludgen a concept to death, and since this is the only Saturday home date prior to the eclipse we are going to revisit another cinematic classic from the Summer of '77

The coach wanted to reset Annie Hall but that is a little to cerebral for our demographic. Of course star wars was considered but ownership is a trek guy.


So as a compromise this week we reset the film that encapsulates both deep cerebral concerns and solid science fiction fun. And it is also being rereleased!

The final fortnight does portend some drama to play out, the General's three game slide looks to be going to four as Deronimo moves closer to their standard issue 2nd place finish. With Wichita going to Goldsboro it appears my boys drift into the relegation zone. But three of the final four are at the Coliseum so hope remains.

In the Great 8, the 4 teams qualifying for the playoffs are set - with my newly promoted kitties, making the cut, and thus I will be around next season in III.5. I know my guys will get crushed in the 1st round, but this season was all about survival. Having accomplished that, I can now focus on slowly trying to move up the league ranking in seasons to come.

But there is a good battle for 1st brewing in the Great 8 between Tetra and Cheek. My money is on Tetra to take the conference and the league title.

Mad props on getting to the postseason. As I see it the remaining drama is in the blues where the General's and Shockers will battle to the bitter end for that final slot. I think our schedule gives the fellas the upper hand but next week's battle in Wichita will tell the tale.


Also I think the battle to avoid the cellar in club red is compelling like watching someone get sent thru a wood chipper, you don't want to look but you can't turn away. At the top of the table silent has become deadly as the supplications have made them a Juggernaut. Hydro might hang onto HCA but if the apples are healthy the title is a faint accompli.

The question this week is how much enthusiasm will be put into our efforts. The good thing is a split should settle matters. But much like the Lions the Generals have left a couple on the table. And much like the Lions they struggle on the road.
