Quit it with the personal attacks.

This is for discussion, not a pissing contest.

NO ONE at this table ordered a rum & Coke

A CT? Really?
Any two will do
Any three for me
Any four will score
Any five are live

I can only win pissing contests after fifteen beers.

I think with 50k+ you can't keep everyone happy, and while that may be the understatement of the year, I am happy and am looking forward to the changes.

Will they work? We can speculate day and night, but at least BBs are being active. It could be worse, this game could be run by EA.

20k palace is a normal basketball arena,40k palace is a football/soccer/baseball stadium
and this over-avaibility of seats can be eliminated, who have enormous arenas can destroys some seats and gets money...

and this game isn't really reality^^

And that you first get a football stadium from the design which is cut down that high, isn't real also ;)

Also it is unreal that you could easily add some place for a arena, normally you had to build a new one. There are many compromisses betwenn reality and fun here, and the system gives also oppurtunity for the small teams. I think the bigger problem with the income was the huge differences betwenn winning and loosing.

See the Alamadome. 65,000 seats, designed for football and basketball. For basketball, spectator capacity was expandable to almost 40,000 seats for the playoffs (many upper seats were curtained off during regular season games). Of course, having seen basketball there myself, it was an awful place to watch a basketball game. The Spurs have since moved, so it doesn't matter. They got a new arena with capacity of about 18,000 or 19,000 now (I'm too lazy to look it up). I haven't been to the AT&T Center, but I hear it's decent. And more appropriately basketball sized. And of course, few seats makes it easier for the team to charge more per ticket and leave the real fans at home where they can barely pay their cable bill.

Don't ask what sort of Chunks they are, you probably don't want to know. Blowing Chunks since Season 4!

Just to chime in, the largest basketball arena in the USA right now is the Carrier Dome (University of Syracuse) at 45,000.

The largest NBA arena is the Palace of Auburn Hills (home of the Detroit Pistons) at 22,076.

As announced at the start of the season, we delayed the most recent game engine upgrades until Saturday's games. To remind you, these changes were announced part-way through Season 8 and a summary can be found in the news post entitled "Game Engine Updates (Scrimmages)". The modified game engine will be in use starting with today's private league games. Thank you again to the many players who helped give us feedback at every stage of our development process.

We are also pleased to announce that the new television contracts have been signed, and teams will receive updated money starting with their next economy update. In the future, these contracts will be revised one per season, during the offseason processing.

As a response to the suggestions of many of our users, we will be implementing a few minor changes to the way we handle forfeits starting immediately.

Currently, a team which forfeits loses the game 25-0, and the game is treated normally for the purposes of training, game shape, and team effort. After the changes, a forfeit will still be recorded as 25-0, but the league standings will consider a team that forfeits to be below all teams with the same win/loss record, regardless of point differential. Furthermore, a forfeiting team will receive no training minutes for the game. The team effort will still have the same effect as before.

Finally, in the event of a double-forfeit during a Playoff or National Tournament game, the home team will be declared the winner and will advance.

Our goal is for BuzzerBeater to remain the most realistic basketball simulation available, and your continued feedback helps us make the necessary modifications. Thank you again for all of your input!

They didn't forget to say the most important thing?
How does this differ from the engine at the beginning of the season? What are the changes made actually..?

Hi,

I would like to present my point of view:
I strongly disagree with using new game engine (GE) since tomorrow.

Some of the reasons are:
1) GE is not tested by users! Previous version of GE you tried to start early this season was stopped because of problems regardless of the fact that users tested it. Now you try to release new version without users have it avalable, it's big risk.
2) Because of no possibility to play around with new GE by users, it will be a lotery to which team new GE will help. These is not to possitive condition for users and it's not motivating.
3) Each part of season is played under other part of GE - this dosn't reflect quality of teams.
etc. ...

best regards and good luck (we will need it)
Marek

1) sooner or later GE will be tested by users
2) in news there is said what has been changed. you want to a PRO already in new GE?
3) why not? why good players suddenly should be bad? cup games does big deal where teams are in standings too.

Any changes will have to go through a transition period. Unfortunately, some might not be happy at the beginning of the changes. But it's probably better for the long haul. So, let's test the new GE and be patient.
