The problems of SB, as we know, are the impossibility to see its advantages in the matches and the high increase that it gives to the players' wages. About the first, i had an idea. Why not add another defense in the post match ratings (i don't know how are they called, i mean the ones where you can see the level of your outside offense, rebounding etcetera...). I think that in real life there are 3 type of defense required: inside defense (contain the man in the low post, under the basket, really near it = ID of C, PF and maybe SF, it depends from the opponent), perimeter defense (try to not let the opponent penetrate, do pressure, steal balls and disturb his 3 pointers = OD of PG and SG, maybe SF and sometimes PF) and the last one, the one that i want to suggest, driving defense (use the body and hope that your taller mates help you = ID of the direct defender (PG if opponent's PG is penetrating, SG if opponent's player is a SG etcetera...) and SB of the helper (PF or C) who can try to stop the ball. This way we can know what's the best tactic to use for the offense (LP if the first defense is low, motion or R&G against the second and LI for the third. This way can make SB useful and help defending against LI.

I'm sure i made some grammatical/typing mistakes, sorry for that. I hope the message is clear.

Yes, there is a hidden "physical" skill.

It's not strictly good or bad -- you just might want some players who are physical, and some who aren't.

You probably don't want a team of all very physical players. However, it's probably the easiest thing to get from looking at the boxscore page -- if they average 4+ fouls per game, they're probably very physical players.

I knew that I read it somewhere ;) So, it brings me back to my first question: how many hidden skills are there and is the clutch time player one of these hidden skills?
it's easier to search for something if you know that there are e.g. six hidden skills ;)

BB-Charles once said that SB is shown in "Inside defense" match ratings. Since noone trains it, Inside scoring is always much higher than Inside defense despite ID being at same level as IS. Take a look at these match ratings from last year's finals, for example...

(55784146)

Dyionisus's Inside scoring is rated Marvelous (Medium), while Inside defense is Prominent (High). High SB on his inside players would cause a boost in Inside defense ratings, but then his inside players would have 300k+ salary.
