This is a really bad idea. First of all it will add a lot of server load.
There are plenty of times I have woke up in the middle of the night in order to bid on staff or a player. I seldom am the only one from "wrong timezone" bidding. So I am strongly against auto-bids, if you want a player -> wake up to bid for him or set the initial bid high enough to get him.

You said first of all. Is there another reason it is bad?

Sure people can wake up in the middle of the night every time they want a half decent player, or they could just bid the maxiumum they can afford straight up, but people don't generally like doing this. Having the auto bid, as a supporter feature only, would not increase the server load too much, more people would become supporter and so they could afford more servers to reduce the load, and it would allow people to bid on a player without getting up at 4am.

normally that is pretty good for the servers, because normally you just giving a second variable to the transfer. So you had current price, and a hidden maximum bid. if you now bid it got compared to the maximum bid, and you calculate the new price with it - thats much cheaper then to bid against each other because that makes traffic two bid agents against each other make just 4 simple calculation ;)

If it would be supporter only, it would give an unfair advantage to supporters. That's what BB-s are trying to avoid.

You are talking about 3-4 people bidding. With auto-bid you would have 5000 hidden bids to compare. Are you saying it does not matter for server load?

you only had to compare too, because you could go instantly to the final bid.

Player X is on tl for 1k
A biddng 100k
B bidding 50 k

After A bids, he leads with 2k, if B bids you are automatic on 51k and if then someone new bids you had to compare it with it. If B doesn't have a auto bid and make it with minum steps - you will have A 2k, B 3k, A4k ... (50 steps, if a bids automatics you wuld have also 50 steps with, but much more traffic).

And everytime to auto bids fight it is very good for server load ;)

Are you argueing just because of argueing? You seem to lack knowledge in IT and how things work. So instead of every time taking the argument off-topic, you could sometimes just stop posting and see what others think. I have given valid reasons why this would be bad. It's bizarre to me that you suggest 5000 (or even 100) autobids would decrease server load.

oh damn in this case i have the wrong job and study ;) but maybe you should thing about what cool things algorithms could do, and make instead of 500 steps just 1(and it is nearlyy ajoke to call this an algorithm it is the most easiest implementation)

taking the argument off-topic, you could sometimes just stop posting and see what others think.

i think with your though we could stop thinking about it, so i say that it is very easy to implement and good for the load ;)

i think this auto bid thing is stupid, for example I'm selling a player, and I see that someone is auto biding my player, so what would i do? I would bid my player myself, so i could get more money from it, it's really a very difficult thing to manage .. sorry, but that's my opinion

That is part of the risk of a user setting an auto bid. But remember than you don't know what their max value is. So you can keep bidding up trying to get more money for your player, but if you get greedy, and bid too much, then you will end up paying a lot of money because their autobid will reach its max value, and you will end up buying your own player and you will have to pay a potentially large percentage of tax on it.

but his point is valid, i normally go out of bidding when the owner start bidding on his player i don't think that i am not the only one who does it - but for the automatic bid this is equal so the strategy becomes more succesful.
