Hi guys. Just a quick query... I'm currently training Fallon in hope of him making the U21 team, and was wondering when - if ever - is a good time to train stamina. Is it necessary or more beneficial to just train the primary skills and have players get by without too much stamina? Cheers.

Hi skunk, you are making very good work with Fallon, compliments. For now you can quietly train the primary skill as you are making now. If you want train stamina you could train it only at the end of the season when maybe you have only 2 matches at week ;)

yes, we must say that our two HALL OF FAMER Center are in good hand.

Normally there are two moments of the season during wich we could set a week of Stamina or Free Throw.
The end of the season as matt said, and the All star game week if you have been ejected form the national cup (otherwise you'd have two cup matches and one of regular season).

In these weeks you'll have only 2 games , so normally you can set a team train as stamina or FT.
For now first of all we have to make the primary skills grow and grow ... if some other kind of training will be useful we'll ask you to set it.

:D

BUT let's talk also of the victory with the INDIA U21 TEAM... :D

in this match I have tried something new. I wanted to check our PF and C, to do that I have also used Fran Cox like SF, the best PF who can play in that role. As I aspected we suffered at the outside defense, however we have done great controll of rebounds and a strong inside defense.

Unfortunately these are the last matches of Jason Mac Gabhann, Fran Cox and Adam Gray, who were important players for the whole season. They are 21 years old and they will be out of team next season. I'm really waiting the new generation of C and PF :D

As EESS71 said the next draft will be crucial for the future Ireland NT. As all you know the draft is coming, it will be at the end of season. Well, I want to underline that one of the differences between a well developed country to a bad developed one is properly a good base of young players at the season start. For example, at every season start the best players could be 18 years old and with a potential at least all star.

So I want to advise all active managers who read this forum (who are also the better ones :D ), to take particular attention to the draft. It would be a good thing if we waste less great-players as possible.

So, take care about the draft list, the age and the potential!

as I said the draft list has just appeared!

You can just set the draft list by the link "Manage My Team".

It would be better if you select players who are 18 years old and with more " rating balls" as possible ;)

Ehi, I've found this usefull guide which explain in a better english how to train a NT player. I think it could be usefull for new managers :)

GM-Rip has wrote this post (144856.42):

Training a NT player

Training a player for his national team is quite a bit different than training a player to be your team’s backup shooting guard. It’s also important to note that the more users a country has, the more difficult it will be to train a NT player for that country. Here are my general rules for how to train a NT player (from scratch):

- You’re going to need to start off with an eighteen year old prospect.
- The average NT prospect should have at least superstar potential though the potential will vary from country to country. It may be possible to train a NT player with starter potential if it’s for a small country while in one of the larger countries it is possible that a player will need at least MVP potential to cut it.
- Coming out of the draft the player should probably have at least a $3500 salary and a good set of skills to work with.
- Unlike training club players, it is crucial that you train your prospect in single position training whenever possible. The only times it’s acceptable to use two position training is when you need to train a skill that does not offer single position training; jump shot for example.
- It is fairly common for managers to stop training regular players when they are 22 or 23 but in order to train a successful NT player you will need to train your player into their mid twenties.
- Always make sure to consult with your player’s (potential) NT manager to make sure they are being trained on the right path.

Your team makes quite a sacrifice when training a NT player but it can usually be forgiven once you have your final product. I don’t think there’s anything more rewarding in this game than training up a great national team player!

So the last match of this season has been played, now my staff and I are ready for the typical work of end season. :)

First of all I would like to thank all managers of NT U21 players who have been in contact with me during the whole season. I think that most of those players are well trained so they will have great chanches for their future in Ireland NT.

I want to make the point that in the current roster there are three young players who I have selected in U21 NT for a only specific reason. They were playing in teams which were going to become BOT. As you know this is the only way to save them. Well, I don't know if all they can play again in U21 NT the next season, but surely they will have lots of probability in the future (if they will be well trained of course). Precisely they are: Darren Jennings, Pat Garvey, Peter Daniels. I hope that they can grow up well because they could be very important in Ireland NT in 3 or 4 seasons.

In the coming days I will start the scouting work with my staff, so I'm going to select and unselect lots of players in U21 NT . I have to update the database with old players and insert the new players (18 and 19 y.o.). Only at the end of these things, when I'll know the skills of all players and if they are trained, I will be ready to choose the official roster ;)

Then we will send BB-mails to all owners of the best players with some advice like this last season ;)
