What I agree about (from the start) is that this suggestion is not a top priority.
But, as I wrote somewhere, it is not that available to scout a player by your own.

Currently, and due to other definition of the game, the MVP of a team may come seconds before playoff begins.
You cannot get enough information from his stats, as they where made on a different league.
A player who was a great offence player (Morisson) may be very bad at that when coming from college into the "bigs" league (NBA).

In addition, what I suggested is that you may scout for a limited of information per week.
And to that I've added that it will cost you.
It adds possibilities and complexity to the game - now you'll need to decide does this information worth it? Do you want to pay money for getting this information or you preffer using the money for other targets in the game.

I think the Morrison example is the perfect argument against your suggestion.

Scouts saw him play in college and - based on what they saw - thought that he was great.
That's a mistake that exposes bad scouting.
You basically want to eliminate the possibility to make mistakes, i.e. the possibility of proving that one is better than others at BB management because he doesn't make mistakes.

Imagine if the guys who scouted Morrison could read his ACTUAL skills list. He probably would have gone undrafted.

Same goes for season games.
You follow your league, you get an assessment of your opponents. "An assessment" is very different from "the reality", you can nail it (and in some cases it's very easy) or you can fail (because it can be tricky).

I don't like it and i won't take part in this discussion. I just want to point that this would spoil NT competitions a lot. You just proposed new form of farms to be added. At least on u21 level there is naturally still some hazy knowledge of opponents because of new players every year.

Actually no, that's not true. The deadline ends on Saturday or Sunday, and the first playoff game is only on Tuesday. So there are two days for you to prepare your lineup, look at this new player's boxscores, etc... It's not like you need to follow him for the whole season...

You CANNOT get an assesment who is a new player in your league.
A player that had been bought "seconds" before playoff.
[Like we see that you have done, and this is why you are agianst this suggestion]

Morrison had been great for his league, but this information is just irrelevnant to the NBA.
The same is true for that player who had been brought from that other league in BB-world.

When implying "seconds" it was brought as a phrase.
One cannot get any knowledge when a player played (maybe) a game or two (in the best case) before your match in the playoff for your opponent's team.

So you would introduce a rule which is bad (because it removes the possibility to make mistakes - a claim that you didn't reply to, because you don't know what to say) ONLY for the few cases where teams buy players just before the playoffs?

Facepalm

1) This rule does not "remove possibility to make mistake" - paying for information may be for nothing.
The information may not add anything to the requesting.

2) Well. I took your claim about "few" cases, and added it to the information found about that you are one of the cases - bringing a player that his salary is twice as much as any of your other players, just before your last playoff.
So, I've wanted to see whether it is "only one of those few cases".

It came with a big "supprise" that you have done just the same in the previous season as well.
Two top players that have been bought (again) just seconds before playoff.

You are one of the great examples why this feature (and others relating to this) is needed.

I have to admitt I admire your effort. If you channel it into care of your BB team, you would surely do much better. Even without those crucial additions you suggest.

I like the idea based on its fundamentals. I LOVE it when the opposition put a player up for sale, and you can see his stats, and you think 'ohhhhhhhhh THATS why he keep kicking my ass' .....

BUT in saying that, i think one of the exciting and FUN things about this game, is deciphering the oppositions players, based on the tactics used, the players you play against him. The eternal question of 'how come his PF is playing SG, and why didnt my SG burn him about the court?' ........ or...... 'How come that guys rating is so high yet his salary is so low' .. having answers to these questions immediately would be FANTASTIC!

But
it would totally remove the reward and time and effort and essentially some of the fundamental fun of the game, which is quite rewarding.

So yer, thumbs down on this idea unfortunately from me. I like the whole expansion of the scouting option though, ill let that bounce around in my head a bit more and see if i can come up with something based off that.
