At the end of the season, the same number of teams will promote. There are many sources of bad luck in this game. There are the same number of sources of good luck. Because we are competing, and the numbers of places in each division is fixed. Good management is still by far more important than luck. This game is balanced in that regard.
This is another example of mediocre managers thinking that they are not successful because this or that and a change in the rules will make them successful. Delusional. This is also an example of current BBs not understanding what the game really needs and hearing to the shouting majority.
When something like this happens, strategy enters into play. You look at your league at the start of the season and you decide if it is time to go for promotion or it is better to save money and wait for a better opportunity. Making the game more simple means making the game worse.
