Just know what IM telling is advanced technique which wont be easy to do, nor profitable long term unless smeone know what they are looking at.. Its more for defensive bench or creation to tactical things for outside guard. Its not actually wise to do them, unless you know what your doing. Not saying you don't but , its a huge risk.

Im just putting that out there.

you have a C trainnee and you are training JR?

have u got a training mentor? Id go pop on the USA forum and find a training mentor just to run ur training plan past him.

Well I run motion offense and training one on one has been working better than training inside scoring. I'm training outside shooting with gaurds I started out doing it per position then I found what works for me the best.

Heading on the right path so far. Are you?

I know you haven't asked and I'm totally aware that this is off-topic, but I notice you have 3 18 y.o., 1 19 y.o. , 4 20 y.o. + some 21-24 y.o.s in your roster, I hope your plans don't include training all of them at the same time.

as per bernspins comment, you want to focus on 1-2 trainee's over the course of a few seasons.

training occurs more rapidly when players are younger, so if you miss that boat when they are young, you might as well not train them.

So pick 3 players max that you want to be training. 3 bigs or 3 guards, and then just focus on training those appropriate skills for forwards/guards.

Training a big 3 or 4 times in one season, and training another guard 5 or 6 times a season is a MASSIVE..

I have been mixing in some more zone the last season or two.


Rebounding HUGE difference.


Inside tactics tend to still get inside shots, but they are a lot better contested overall in a 2-3.


If you are playing someone who has the horses to make you pay from outside the 2-3 can be torched, conversely the 3-2 can be excellent for slowing down teams that bomb from outside.

The zones are a good way to minimize and hide weak defenders who otherwise could get torched in man.

Actually, I've got kind of the opposite feeling: as a primarily outside-focused team, I think there are way too many LI guards on the market right now, but we really lack "pure" guards with enough JR to play outside tactics.

Of course guards with low secondaries even for inside tactics (but still lacking JR) are very cheap as compared to pure LI guards with high IS/ID, but there are really few options for purely outside comboguards, who are able both to create the offensive flow and score. But that may be just my impression


I think the easiest way to sum it up is that, at least in terms of how players have been trained, is that IS is a primary skill for guards and JR is a secondary (or tertiary) at best. But at least JR is slower than most other training regimens, so we've got that going for us.

Say for example I would look for sb/id in young player with the correct height so I can train him as guard. This way you can have defensive a outside guard on the cheap. Its hard to find such player but it very possible, I have 4 on my team right now..


Absolutely. Likewise, there's a ton of value in finding tall young players who already have good JR, OD and PA (well, any guard skill, except if you're planning on training much guard skills or 1v1 you may not want to start with a lot of HA, as that'll be added with the other stuff).

Well, I run moton and if its anything like the real life motion then im training it right. So far I know that one on one seem to be working fine for me. I see better results if I train one on one than inside scoring and training outside shooting with gaurds.

Heading on the right path so far. Are you?
