There is no "one size fits all" offense which is the best to use in every situation (although iirc apparently according to the BBs in the olden days, base offense is supposed to be the best).

Just that in some situations, patient works better. Especially when you have one player with much higher JS/JR than whole team. It also gives you a fighting chance against a team who is way more superior than yours (tho you gotta hope that you catch em with the OD mismatch and they don't have 2 post players with high OD).

This topic talks about the "patient" tactic and one of its "version" when you set your best shooter to "a position" where the "potential mismatch between attacker and defender" is the biggest".
As a few of us already explained a few times, to "intentionally" make the biggest mismatch is to add a "Steph Curry type of player" against a "Shaquille Oneal type of player" in other words assign your best shooter at C position.
In other words you are telling the game engine that use my player at C.
If you do not set this version "reverse patient" the game engine will find the mismatch and it could be anywhere where the defensive skills and offensive skills have the biggest deficit.

The patient tactic works in a way that to trying to find "the mismatch" on the court. As explained earlier it could be a total dominance and one player will take the majority of the possessions against his much weaker opponent or could be more spread out if you have two or multiple good shooter and "there is no one obvious mismatch on the court"

Other tactics have their own advantages.
Patient works in this way.

Hope it helps,
Sz.

Your France NT manager and/or scouts can tell you more about this tactic. You can ask them about this game for example: (58868)

My little finger tells me that's better to not ask them...

Anyway it seems working fine as tactic

But honestly it can also fail as a tactic, it's certainly not perfect and if you want you can find plenty of lost games with reverse patient too.

You are too kind (to me) I was expecting someone to dig up one or more of the Netherlands losses with reverse patient, but it's powerful to have an common adversary
