There is surely nothing artificial about that situation...

It is completely and obviously artificial.

Why isn't it to you?Seriously.

What's artificial about being able to select a minimum sale price that satisfies you? I find that completely normal. BB is not a perfectly competitive market. These don't really exist outside of Economics textbooks anyhow. Therefore, providing some sort of guarantee for the seller is essential.

since reaction 2 on this tread we have been drifting away from the question:

is that load of text needed every time we put a player for sale, and is that smaller, but still anoying, text needed when we bid on a player?

I thought not, and as soon as I translated it, I also said so on our LA-forums.

I believe it should definatly go into the rules. But there is no need to clutter the other pages. Cheaters will neglect it anyway. If it is in the rules, everyone should know. When an account is created it should clearly state that every player is taken to know the rules, and if later fined or banned can't come with an excuse like: I didn't know , if it is clearly in the rules. That should be enough.
It is impossible for BB to keep a nice looking site if they start adding pieces of rulestext in every so many pages.

That is my personal answer to the first post in this tread. It has been since the day I translated that text, and it still is. ;)

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.

We're essentially eliminating the chance that someone could argue that they didn't know the rules.

If they didn't know the rules after seeing that text, they're screwed.

I was referring to your example of listing at zero and then bidding all the money a team has on its worst player. Isn't that the very definition of 'artificial' in this contest?

Erm, I am a bit confused as to where this discussion is leading. The post by JuicePats a bit up says just about everything that needs to be said about this policy.

If they didn't know the rules after seeing that text, they're screwed.

first: CitB realy made me laugh, we definately need more posts like these

then, JuicePats, I think we all can clearly see the reason, and the reason is good.
But that does not have to mean we like it.

As I sugested you could add a piece of text with every sign up that they should read the rules, and that they are susceptable to penalties if they do something that is against the rules. If they do not read them, it's their own fault...

With this 1 simple and 1-time add-on BB takes care of it all.

The funny post from CitB was funny, and made me laugh, but in the end he hits the right spot. BB can't go warning players at all kinds of places for all kinds of things that could be done wrong. The site would look horrible.

They are not your friends; they dispise you. I am the only one you can count on. Trust me.
