III.16 is best characterized as a league of second bests. Of course, there has been a winner each year, but there has been a definite history of good teams repeatedly coming up just short. Since their arrival in the league in Season 15, Murfs Blue Devils have posted three second best seasons in a row, though perhaps this season is their opportunity to promote. Before Murfs Blue Devil's Reign of Almost, the North York Shockers posted two seasons of second place finishes before finally promoting on. What is more amazing is that several teams in the league have been there since season 12; these “left behind” teams are toronto matrix, Hoosiers09, and spiders ball. Seasons 13 and 14 saw the initiation of another group of league faithfuls, including the explosions, the Dunnville Mudcats, and the Vancouver Giants. Of those teams, several are vying to be the next second best, after the Blue Devils move on this season.
In its years, III.16 has only produced one Naismith team, the Mighty Ballers, although III.16 currently boasts Molson Export, which spent the first four seasons in the top league before beginning their slow descent to the 62 player monstrosity they are currently. Some other notable teams to emerge from III.16 are Slamma Jamma who spent two brief seasons in a division two league, Soul Crushers, tsa-aq, and the Weather Makers.
Season 18 is largely coloured by the fact that in Season 17's MVP voting race, the Murfs Blue Devils held the top four vote getters and all of these players still play for the team. In other words, the searing pain of defeat must still live large in the Blue Devils consciousness and if they don't win it all this year, it would be an upset to say the least. [s]piders ball, the team with the best record in the Big 8, seems to be following Molson Export's lead and has comprised a team featuring 40 players, most of whom are useless washouts aged 30 and above. They have two players with any discernible skills and their youngest player is a 19 year old with starter potential. In others words, not much is going on there in terms of competing with the MVP heavy Blue Devils and in terms of being relevant into the future. More likely to be standing at the end of the season are explosions and the Yukon Golddiggers especially who boast three key prospects (Massimiliano Giangeli, Oles Ruben, and Barrett Sale) and look set to compete in the near future. On the other hand, explosions hold the salary of Cai Xiangning ($57,498) and seem more prepared to be the team that emerges from the Big 8 in this season's playoff race.
The Great 8, set to be dominated from pole to pole by Murfs Blue Devils, features Hoosiers09 and the Dunnville Mudcats. Both teams seem to exemplify the attitude of this league, waiting patiently, or perhaps impatiently, for their opportunity to shine. Although these teams do not feature the big salaried or highly skilled players of the Blue Devils, they are well built with substance and depth at every position. The Vancouver Giants are a team in the wings, slowly building their team and biding their time.
The league is filled out by the 2014 Olympians, who seem to have packed it in after falling from II.2; Tim Hortons, who hold the rights to 18 year old Jerry Beer; Supreme featuring rookie sensation Gordon Zavard; star wars geek who took over from the long standing second placer Montreal Matrix last season and managed not to be relegated; the long lasting and well travelled Moldon Export; toronto matrix who have been around for a long time; a brand new franchise RNC Dream Team; Bask3ballpwn and me, Perfervid Iron-Mills, both of which are sitting at 0 and 5 in the basement of the league.

Maybe email the people in your league theres 16 teams and 14 weeks and usually theres a bot or two so you guys can divide it up so one manager posts once a season so everyone gets a chance to post and share their own views about the league..... let me knw what u guys think :)

So mine may seem super long but i decided to talk about a lot of random stuff n will be posting two to three teams a day if i have the time so here it goes :P

League III.9 one of the best and famous div III leagues thanks to the likes of Fundamently Sound and Haaa. Some say with Coach Coach gone the league has fallen off and is nothing special anymore but with internal development its better and more interesting than ever.
Last season saw Fundamentally Sound finally advanced after 4 difficult years where they were always in contention but could never get over the hump. Along with Sound, Les Peureux Unis who have been playing since season 4 left the division as they were relegated to Div IV. Demon Bird Mothballs, Winnipeg Jets and Los Angeles Tiger Cats were other 3 teams to get relegated. This led to Rugrats dropping back from DIV II for their third stint in DIV III and also DIV IV powerhouse Cavsown23 joining the league. Master Chasters, MBCT and QC Bungees were the other three teams to get promoted.
This year the teams are pretty close in talent and that will lead to some intense games and the only teams that seems ready to make a jump too DIV II is Iqaluit Test Icicles.
Great 8
Iqaluit Testicles (6-0)
Iqaluit has been playing in III.9 since they were 1st created and it seems like their championship hungry fans will be granted their wish of advancing this season after a 10 year drought. Team numerous failures to deliver in the playoffs have led to a countless amount of riots(reportedly 5 million in damages) as the they have finished first a numerous times only to get upset in the playoffs. This year the team seems prepared to make that next move with former MVP Kiousis back for another year.
Starting Lineup:
PG- Infante $ 17032
SG- Pazus $ 32747
SF- Banchereau $ 14778
PF- Zalinski $19319
C- Kiousis $70194
6th Man- Levanic $8418
Prospects- Skupinski 19 Year old $5115
Iqaluit runs an impressive Run & Gun offense along with a rarely seen Outside Box and One. If Iqaluit would to promote to DIV II they would need to make some major changes at PG to compete, the team has been spending a lot of money and reportedly paid 1.8 Million for Zalinski and 400k on Spunsiki. These players may seem overpriced but we will never know their secondaries. Iqaluit is currently sitting at 6-0 with a PD of 275 and is the top team in III.9.
Sony Rox Ur Sox (5-1)
This team is famous for its Depth at every single position and working hard every day. Sony may not possess any monsters like Iqaluit but they have one of the most balanced teams in DIV III that never lets up. They have been playing in III.9 since season 14 and first came to existence in season 10. Their lack of star power has hurt them a few times as they have made the finals and finished first in the league on numerous occasions and with the core around the age of 33 it won’t be long before father time catches up. Sony hasn’t been a big spender so maybe we could expect a big move by the end of the season that could possibly put them ahead of Iqaluit.
Starting Lineup
PG- Lavalle $10609
SG- Gonzalez $24653
SF- Yongan $34377
PF- Mangoro $27148
C- Therrien $18845
6th Man- Suntoro $13932
Prospects- None
Sony’s main offense this season has been Run & Gun and works well since there is a ton of depth on this team and they play Man to Man on defense. Sony’s future success depends on when and how they invest their money a 70k center to match Iqaluit will definitely punch their ticket to DIV II but that all depends on how much the team has saved up and how much they are willing to lose on a weekly basis. Iqaluit is their main competitor and they will be facing each other this coming Saturday in a game that is expected to draw sellout crowd. Sony has already lost a game to Rugrats and there of chances of beating Iqaluit on the road with a lower ENT seem slim.

Rugrats (4-2)
Rugrats are back in DIV III after 4 season in DIV II and are a team that is going through a ton of changes and dealing with depleting fan base due to relegation. This team currently has the most talent, better then Iqaluit, Sony and are currently one of the top teams in DIV III based on talent. With the star players up for sale the team breaking apart and but could start rebuilding anytime with the money available.
Starting Lineup:
PG- Piquemal $67733
SG-Torres $61359
SF- SchnickSchnak $20396
PF- Marchini $25713
C- Barcala $31350
6th Man- Coleman $4078
Prospects- Agarwal $5563 18 Yr old (Currently not being trained and hasn’t been put on the market)
Rugrats is definitely lacking depth but their starting lineup is a force to be reckoned with. With a 240k payroll the team is definitely losing money and could look very different possibly by the end of this week as both of the starting guards are currently on sale. Rugrats if they can bring in replacements and add more depth could contend for the title as they will look pretty similar to Sony Rox ur Sox and with potential savings they could be in a much better position financially.

Next- Montreal Koolers Haa and MBCT
i will shorten em didnt they woould be this long :P

Wow, all these posts have been great! Im loving all of them! Keep them coming everybody! Ill probably have 4 leagues posted on Friday.

Ive been fairly inactive on the forums lately, so ill get back into it! :)

Also the idea of having managers post a game of the week thing from all their leagues each week is great! The problem is getting managers to do it! ;) i was thinking of doing that, but only 1 or two games a week.
