I know where you're coming from but I can't agree with the statement that if I can't win right now then I don't deserve it. I've been playing my cards since the beginning and I believe I've been playing them right. I definitely have a strong enough team to play in the fourth league, I know how to manage my enthusiasm and game attitude, I have the largest arena in my division, good staff and young prospects who I'm training, I'm making a weekly profit of 30k, have a long-term plan. Looking at all teams playing in fifth leagues in Poland I'm quite sure I have the highest country rank. This came from a lot of careful planning so in that sense I believe I do 'deserve' to advance.

It's obvious that there will always be stronger and weaker leagues, of course, but why not try to make the gaps smaller and diminish the luck factor?

Two ideas which I already mentioned:

1. The country rank should be one of the factors determining which teams promote as part of the BOT cleanup if not THE single most important factor. Just talking about advancing through BOT cleanup, playoff winners should advance as they do now obviously. I believe this is a much more objective factor than the others, because it takes effort to advance in the ranking whereas it takes only luck to be allocated to a given league, conference, etc.

2. Introduce a horizontal shuffle between same-level divisions before a new season. It could only be applicable to lower level leagues and only one or two teams could be moved at a time - it would allow the divisions to have a similar level of strength. Advantages: you don't have irritated managers in strong divisions; you don't have bored managers in weak divisions; moving teams across means additional analysis of oponents is needed = more fun; this would even have a good influence on higher leagues as there would be a smaller chance of scrubs advancing.

I'm not saying I'm disappointed that I wasn't assigned a team in an easy division. I'm thinking about ways to even the level out and make it more fun for everyone.

I didnt want to be offensive in any way with the statement "you dont deserve it". And I think your ideas are good.
But I still remember the total wage of my players the first time I promoted from div. V: it was 126K. And I only got the fourth win/lose record to finish third in my conference.
On the other hand, I wouldnt want to promote if I dont win my league, because you wont get the attendance bonus next season.
This is my advice. I think you can still do much better. You have only 2 trainable players, one of them not very good. None of them is from your draft. Time in the lower leagues is really important and what better base than training your drafted players in secundary skills which could cost you games in higher leagues.
You can still promote this season, but if you dont, take it as an opportunity instead of feeling disappointed.
I wish you the best.

Oh no, no offense taken, sorry if my reply sounded that way. I appreciate your advice and of course I try to consider all the factors you described when planning ahead (but e.g. in the drafts so far I only received really really poor players and for now I would rather spend any extra cash on expanding the arena rather than on draft).

It is all complicated but that's what makes the game fun.

I'll hang on to my ideas and maybe bring them up later when there is a general discussion aiming to improve the game experience.

Perpete, Manon, hrudey (aka 'doggie') - really looking forward to any comments you may have to my ideas... Do you think they make sense? Have they been raised before? What would be the best forum to bring them up?
