Weird set up... So by finishing 6th/7th allows you the same bonus as finishing top 4. What a joke.

Yeah, it's weird. Crowds will naturally be a lot smaller, but they really should have bonuses based on average league salary like the salary floor/tv contract.

BBs have stated on the forums in the past that finishing 4th>5th in the long run due to superior fan survey which influences your arena and merchandise the following season. Of course statistically this is difficult to determine if it is true. So it really depends on how you look at it. Short run 5th>6th>4th. Long run???

so yeah, deciding to finishing 6th rather than 5th is definitely situational. if your going to try to finish 6th, your confident that you can smash the other relegee face in without trouble thus, you going to get double home revenues + 1 away revenue.

finishing 4th is probably the worst as you get knocked out in the first round and have to play salaries without even having any home income. probably the only instance is when you doing a HA or whitebeard strat to go allin on some guys right b4 playoffs.

5th god damn it. this is a game, take some risk... zzz 2 boring weeks you really want that? but yea if the 2 condition above are not met which is usually the case, this is probably the spot to be with the new no salary incentive.

BBs have stated that many times but really do you believe it? Coming 4th instead of 5th could cost you normally about $200,000 right away in division II and a lot more in the ABBL. Maybe next season there will be some slight difference in your weekly income but around $20,000 a week, no way. Even worse the $200,000 you get now can be used to build your arena, but a new player, get a trainee at the start of the season and so it worth a lot more than $20,000 extra you might be getting 14 weeks later if it is even true.

There is no doubt in my mind that if you aren't in with a chance to promote that 5th is better than 3rd or 4th.

As for 6th or 7th it really depends on your opponent. Last season Kynlala Knights got to milk the bot Canberra Crushers for a 3 game series, that must have been worth a windfall of close to half a million to them. Having to fight against Docs Patients, Steves Crocs or Phoenix 5 is not as much fun unless you feel very confident about your roster and finances.

dont forget the extra game for training if you finished 4th or 6th.

this is huge as you dont suffer the training penalty of being 1 year older and 1/3 of your training is lost for 2 weeks = 1 pop lost for one of your trainee.

As someone who will finish fourth, this has been an interesting thread to follow! I have worked out I will lose 200k, assuming a full house against Vic (also assuming Vic stays on top!!).

I would rather be 5th for cash reasons, but the extra game for training is ok too, but the cash is a killer I agree.

Not that this will happen this year, but what if 4th wins both games and makes the big dance? Is it worth it then?

Hopefully they tweak the formula some more.

If you make the finals it is worth it but just making the SF is proably not depending on how smart and good the arena is of your opponents. It is 1/3 + 1/3 but there are higher turnouts for playoff games even though the BBs say there isn't. The extra game for training may be good...but if you had two scrimmages you could train out of position easily and get everyone 48+. for a playoff game you will probably be playing your best lineup (and not your young trainees) so it may not help the overall training that much.

Valid query. I think you would be looking at a week of losses, followed by a possible break even (if it goes to 3 games in the final) or another week of losses.

2 away games per week during finals, is not enough for me to make a profit. I'd need at least a home game and an away game minimum. That wouldn't net me a huge profit either.

The critical thing for me is do you have a chance to win? If you do then forget the crippling financial losses of coming 4th and embrace it. If you don't have a chance then 5th is so full of win.
