There other things to fix first:
-most important is doing more about the tanking-problem, which is really an issue
-better seed, more income: it´s still a problem, that financel whise it´s better (for the season) to be 5.-7th than ending 3.or 4.. And even to be 1. or 2. isn´t financel more safe, after the 50%-50% split. That´s one reason people start tanking, after they are somekind of "safe" to stay in their division.
-Inside Offense/MM - Problem: well we´ll see, what kind of change the new tactics do for that...

I agree with each point (especially with point 2: what you're saying has been pointed out immediately after that the changes in salary non-payment have been introduced, so seasons and seasons ago), but please consider that something has been studied to solve all of these points (with average or bad results), while nothing has been done for the blank-lineup point, which was nevertheless raised also by the BB themselves!

Of course i consider, that every change need studies and can go wrong, but f.e. point 2 seems not to difficult to solve (as example some bonsu money for making playoffs). blank-lineup is not a real problem, because in the long term, it won´t help you to use it.

Until they make it a huge hit to finance when tanking people will do it

The first time I made it to the ABBL, I fought all season to avoid relegation to no avail.

Finished up the season in debt and had to face unhappy fans back in Div 2.

That was 10 seasons ago and there is no doubt that changes to the game have made it a lot easier for teams that are promoting to compete, but it is still not easy.

It would have to be a pretty big change to make tanking a poor option, when it becomes a choice between finishing 8th whilst competing on the salary floor and finishing 6th or 7th and still getting relegated after a season of spending big trying to stay up

UPDATE #1: The draftees have started arriving (it may take a couple hours for all leagues, please be patient). Good luck with your picks!

Translation: We have filled your inbox with 6th men and bench warmers. Please let us know if you need help finding the nearest recycle bin!

I tried to dump my guys into the recycle bin but they just kept bouncing off the rim.

Notice that there is no sign of the "game day prep" options for the first league game of the season.

What should we make of this?

It's probably related to the processing going on now that's preventing people from setting lineups.

And there are certainly fans in Florida, though with so many other things to do here, it's no surprise that unless a team is the hot thing, people would rather just go out to the beach or play golf or boat or whatever. I'm just glad it cooled down a little finally for Christmas, since 82 degrees (about 28 C for the metric folks) is just unfair for winter.
