5. Eric United
Defending Champion 3 seasons ago, still on their way revamping their roster, which is the reason they are still on mediocre record of 7-7. Led by their two longtime tenure players, Milan Vukic (15ppg, 11rpg) and Alfredo Montecucco (19ppg 6apg 5rpg). Fu Erqiang (18ppg 6apg 5rpg), Sebastião Fabião (16ppg) and Brieuc Duvivier (14ppg) are prominent wing players that always thrives in running game. But with the emergence of Singapore Showstopper and Sessioes Doers will make difficult for Eric United to crack playoff position. Plus, the Whampoa All-Star is wanting one spot as well.
6. Whampoa All-Stars
Solid contender even without Karoly "the Juggernaut" Raffay. This season Whampoa is expected to take a step back, but unexpectedly stormed steadily, scored a three peat for their Tournament Championship, beating Shohoku Backers, Lycans BB, and Sessioes Doers. Duo Clutch Veteran, Arthur Hottinger (26ppg) & David Hurtado (19ppg) won't be missed out for each victories that really count. NT player Ng Chao Huat keeps maturing (16ppg 8apg), probably the finest SGP PG, and hist mentor, Falko Rogali (12ppg 8apg) is covering him from behind the bench. New acquisition, Fraziskus Detjen (11ppg 14rpg), proved clucth as well as his success on slowing down biggies like Fang Shuang Xiang & Eike Balkhausen. Whampoa keep solidfying their game recently by beating SBBL hottest team Pekanbaru Jaguars 103-91 at Jaguars' home. Jaguars Petrus Alexandersson, SBBL no.1 rebounder, was held to 10rebounds, his lowest this season.
7. Xavis
Used to be top 4 at big 8 conference, but still haven't had improvement this season. Led by their bigman Hugo Pečovnik (18ppg 11rpg) and Pravdomil Mlýnek (13ppg 14rpg). Julian Anas was out of shape this season, avg only 15ppg, 5 less than last season 20ppg. Weak perimeter defense is the biggest achiless heel for Xavis. Could be threatened to slip down to Div II due to tight competition on Big 8 conference.
8. Lycans BB
Once the hottest team in league SBBL, but hitting some bad luck on this year. Lost 3 key players when they're facing Whampoa All-Stars, especially veteran Tan Yau Chang who seems fading this season. Fang Shuang Xiang (16ppg 14rpg) and Bolivian Sniper Juan Jose Castell (21ppg 4apg 5rpg) still led the team, and some role players like Ooi Tse Cheng (14ppg) and Michiyaki Tayama (11ppg, 5apg 4rpg). New veteran acquisition Enzo Paolo Gilotti (12ppg 9rpg) is to replace Mao Mingfeng and Dimitris Kavourakis, which just been sold away by the team. Lycans now is sitting on big 8 worst with 5-9 as expenses of their tournament commitment, but expected to climb back to the contention.
