Ha I did like that story, my old roommate sent it to me as well. And that sounds about right. Make up call for fouling 2 of my dudes out.

that was no upset, thumped the Generals like a cantaloupe.
my boys are flagging a bit, but the schedule is favorable the rest of the way.

As for the overall landscape, I think there are 4 or 5 teams that have a chance to promote, but smart money is on Rocket Science. He has played the top teams very tough all year and only lost a couple upset matches. One of those was to the Clogs who are a strong dark horse candidate. They have some quality wins on the books against the same teams they will have to go through to promote. New Bedford and Deronimo are no pushovers themselves, with Cal Bulldogs and Tetrahydro having a puncher's chance, imo. The rest of the field will have to wait for next year (or several seasons later in some cases like myself).

It's funny. I'm 2-0 against Rocket Science but both were home wins, one took OT, and they held my squad under 12 points in three of the eight quarters of those two games. They're giving up the fewest PPG and not doing with with exclusively slow offenses, nor are they stuck running only a single type of offense.

New Bedford's still probably the favorite on our side, certainly as opposed to my team. I managed to win the home game again this season, but it took OT also (16-1 OT margin is weird), and I think had I not had an injury in the first game that week and been playing my usual training lineup, that would have been a win for them.

I guess on the bright side, on less effort on the road the Clogs got 67 points, which compares pretty favorably to most teams that run into the Rocket Science buzzsaw. And really, it took a buzzerbeater at the end of the last two quarters to get the margin to 20, which means that I can definitely win this series, assuming three of their five starters somehow get injured.

And naturally, 33% from beyond the arc against freaking sensational OD is nice. I still can't figure out how Chochol was far and away my leading scorer, though. I wouldn't have taken over 26.5 for a three game series for him.

sensational outside scoring with less effort and no HCA is quite a feat! how did you keep salaries so manageable? that is impressive. not sure I could have stopped your run and gun if efforts were matched.

I don't understand Chochol bursting out either. but then I don't get how he is getting a 10.5 rating on average with a 16K salary.

Minute management on my side seems very strange as well, given it was a 20 point lead.

I think I was lucky with the win but now I wasted enthusiasm and I am worried it will bite me.

Good luck on the next 2 games.

Fortunately, the outside scoring ratings aren't affected by HCA or effort, so it would have been a sensational in any event assuming the same minutes and gameshapes, etc. As far as keeping the salaries down, I think it's more just that my team plan is weird but focused and so far at least, I haven't had to push the salaries too far. The changes coming next season may hurt that a little, though, and at some point in the next few seasons I'll need to promote to get to the next stage.

We'll just say that if he were a lady, the bathroom walls would have "For a very mediocre time, call Chochol" scrawled all over them. But he's essentially a medium forward - not quite good enough outside for SF or good enough inside to be a PF, but for some reason that's always worked out well for me in BB. Pretty much all of the bigs I have now are not quite good enough for III but good enough that they can probably be solid role players still in II, and hopefully I can get there and stick around while I start building the bigs in the next couple of seasons.

Minute management on my side seems very strange as well, given it was a 20 point lead.

Yeah. It was definitely odd. I was pretty irritated when your guy hit the third quarter buzzerbeater to get it to 20, since I thought that would trigger garbage time and make it that much harder to evaluate quite how bad the beating was. Then it got down to 13 briefly in the fourth and I thought there was an outside chance I could get it close to single digits in the last minutes, at which point the streaky nature of outside shooting might have been beneficial.

I think I was lucky with the win but now I wasted enthusiasm and I am worried it will bite me.

I definitely wouldn't consider you lucky there - your team was better that night and rightfully so. Hopefully for me HCA and a little more enthusiasm can force a third game, and at that point my hopes probably rely more on luck than anything else.

Good luck on the next 2 games.

Same to you.

This is weak, where's the yeah talk? I wouldn't let the Clogs score that much on me. Where's the rocket science d that held me to unreasonably low scoring?
