I try to run my team realistically. I know that may not always be the best way to go, definitely in this game (buzzer beater)
But it's been working, I mean it's gotten me to 2 finals.
Like I'm the kinda coach who knows you can't run with the same 5 players for 22 games. Can u imagine how burnt out your players would be. And I started out with picking up older players, but it never really got me far in this game. You could make the argument that's because of how deep this league was back then.
But I started having success when I picked up younger players and trained the hell out of them. And it really just paying off when Romeu turned 30, and Ed 24, Lee 27. Albert and Eike fill in the rest.
And now it's about building my young players, who are on the team. My 19 and 20 yr olds, so when I do have to get rid of guys like Lee, Romeu, Albert, Eike. Hopefully I don't lose a whole lot, it all depends on my training program. And how will I can develop my players.
I know playing buzzerbeater this way, may not be for everyone, but I like trying to build my team, as if I was a real life coach lol. That's just me. I think this works for people who has an idea, and doesn't mind taking their hits, because they can see the bigger picture.
I know there are some coaches here like that, and I may not have won it all, but I hope I have at least showed you, that the system does work.
I think it's important to purchase the young players (18-22)with good potential, and building them up. Older players just take spots away from the younger players. Who then lose, training. Which hurts your team in the long term of things.
