I agree.

I played "Look Inside" and shooting guards went 12 for 36 and dominated taking the shots.

For some reason, the outside shooters are taking the majority of the shots.

My center went 5-7.

I just seems counter-intuitive that I decreased my team effectiveness by picking up a individually more "effective" respectable js/jr and he takes most of the shots and misses them. I'm probably better off with and awful js/jr shooter who passes the ball inside instead of ever shooting.

I play Run & Gun and my team shoots around 40 3pt shots per game... So, your numbers aren't high... And even know they shoot that much, the percentage is just about 25-30%... 10-15 3pt shots made per game... And I'm still winning:)

well, they just don't always listens to what the coach tells them to do. The coach also doesn't always listen to what you say...

They tweak their game depending on the opponent, while they are playing.
If the opposing inside defence is iron, and their outside defense is blubber, then your guys will be shooting a lot of outside shots, even if you tell them to run inside...

The best scenario for a team would be that you tell the coach to look inside, and the coach tells your men to look inside, and the inside is prety open for good shots. Or any other combination that all works well together.
If you tell to do things that are not so easy, then your coach will start doubting, and your players will not know what to do best...

If you read the rules about tactics, you'll see what I mean. ;)

I think if you look at nba statistics... that the numbers the original poster was quoting as being a lot of 3 point shots is actually on the low end of 3 pointers taken for an average nba team.

Not quite sure I totally understood you ('low end' phrase, English is not my first language:)), but this game is totally different from the reality in some cases... For example, my team is averaging about 66 rebounds, and that is way too much... But I like it:) The same thing is with the shot attempts... There are a lot more of them here than in reality...

Bevzil,
it seems I was talking to you yes, however, I noticed I shoul'dn't have, but you probably know I was just replying to the whole tread, rather than just you... and the message was in fact for the originator of the tread.

anyway.
In games like this, there should be more, more moooore , MORE, MOOOOOOOOOOOORRREEEEEEE....
excuse me, I got caried away...

no, in hattrick there are also many more goals per game than is realistic. I think when 2 teams have balanced defence/offense and of equal power, then you will get realistic matches. the further apart the teams are, the more unrealistic results we will get.
I believe this is unavoidable in a way, when you start programming the engine for the game.
Also nobody likes games where nothing happens. In order to eep people occupied and enthousiast, stuff needs to happen...
If in hattrick you won't see any events in 55 minutes, then 1 goal attempt, and finally in the 66th minute 1 goal, and game ends, I don't believe so many players would stay interested. But if you have goal attempst more often, and 1 team is better than the other so the calculation creates more goals, you get unrealistic figures. I feel the same might be true here, however I also think that with basketball it should be easier to limit extreme results.
But apart from the 129 - 44 win I had once, I didn't realy find any of the results unrealistic so far. So actually they did a prety good job.
BB also has a long way ahead, and the engine will probably be tweeked a few times in the future to improve even further.
Did I already tell you I love this game? ;)

As long as 99% of the shooters in the game suck (which they do right now), there'll be that many more rebound opportunities.

I was just kidding, I thought you would recognize the famous movie sentence: 'Are you talking to me???':)

Well, I didn't say I don't like the game this way, I just said it isn't real... But it doesn't need to be...

I have one interesting game for you... Quite unreal... And the teams weren't that far away in quality...

:)

well the more times 'something' can happen, the more unreal it might get.

and you are right, it's a game, and it does not have to be real... it needs to be fun, and as far as I'm concerned it is. But I don't think I need to tell this to anyone who hangs around here.

PS: I was kidding all the way too, but indeed I didn't recognise the ''are you talking to me'' thing.

Merry X-mas to all btw.
