Haha, I spent $0 on scouting this season as a test ... and because I was cocky enough to think I was gonna run away with the title this year, right? No, seriously speaking, I didn't spend any money on scouting to see what happens and I have 2 players open (a 5/4 guard) and a (2/2 forward) and then I can see about 10 more players stats with their grade but no potential.

Scouting is such a waste of my money. Why waste money on scouting when I can let others do the scouting for me and I'll just hit up the TL afterwards.

Trainees cost too much IMO. I was shopping for PGs after the draf past year, wasn't trying to pay 1.7 million each. I'd rather "waste" my money on 300k worth of scouting spread out over 240 weeks.

You don't need to shoot for the moon on the transfer list. Four of my current rotation players were bought for a total of about $200k. It only takes two seasons of single position training to get a 3k player into the 12k-15k range. You're not going to get a huge potential guy or someone with great current skills but in time you can train quality players, save money and make a killing if you want to sell them at some point.

I agree with the TL theory. You can get top draftees at a good price. Scouting is a waste. I got my 5 star/5 star player once and he was useless.

Well both my forwards were prime prospects out of the draft and I like to look for prime trainees when I shop.

Well draft it is what it is but don't forget that all are American players and a squad with too many foreigners drops your merchandise.

Yeah, I won't train a a low or sometimes even mid 3k player for the most part because those players usually have either horrible secondaries, or one really bad primary,(like awful JS, mediocre OD, inept RB, etc.) it's really cost inneffiecient to train, that's why I'm selective on trainees. Especially since I hate single position training as well with the exception of point guards.

Well if you must know :) I have been doing single position training of point guards so I know exactly what you mean. In my experience of looking for cheap TL guards, they usually have really bad interior skills and maybe one below average perimeter skill. With the single position training it doesn't hurt so much. Obviously, I would prefer to buy much more advanced trainees and that's something I would hope to build up to. I've never really had the opportunity to buy expensive trainees until this past season when did exactly that.

Now I'm talking circles around myself. I went against my philosophy and bought an expensive trainee since I had extra funds from the sale of my stud player I got from the draft. I swear, I don't prefer to do it that way :). Seriously though, after a few seasons (hopefully) in D.III and a stabilized cash flow I'll likely change my strategy to account for the upside needed to really compete here. I don't know if you guys know this, but this is a hard division....
