I think you're misinterpreting what he means. My understanding is that since the team before him had to have been "retired" and all its players decommissioned for him to start where he is now, he wants to be able to hire those "retired" players that left the team when the player preceding him left.

Still not gonna happen.

I agree with you, because if you get a old trainee who is now retired back on your team it is kind of unfair because all these others teams trained him and you get all of the benefeits.
