I am no expert on this either but I believe it has a big factor or merchandise and a medium factor of attendance. I really am guessing based on just one example I know of, a bad team who should have poor attendance but are 100% national players and have really good attendance.

I think if you can get a similar player for a similar price always go for the national. But if you have to pay a lot more or get a weaker player then always just get the best player available. This is easy for USA, harder for Australia, impossible for Barbados!

why? wouldn't the number of players of a given nationality always be pretty much proportional to the number of teams of that nationality, i.e. less player supply in Barbados, but still pretty much the same supply/demand balance as in the USA?

Yes but the ratio of rich teams that can afford the best trainers isn't And the pool of older stong players boviously ins't as deep. And there aren't as many experienced managers to ensure the training is effective. It is just all numbers. If you desire a USA C with triple sensational skills you may have to wait 4 hours. If you desire a Barbados C with triple tremendous skills you may have to wait 4 seasons.

Which is the exact problem. Everyone does. Which makes those players incredibly overpriced and rare which makes it even hards for Barbados teams to have Nationals on their squads.

So you are assuming that every new team has all the players they will ever need and will not have to ever have to buy anyone. You must be playing a different game from me.

No, I am assuming nothing. I am very simply stating that these teams do not have to sell their draft picks. They can keep them as long as they'd like. They are not at a disadvantage to have national team players, if anything it is an advantage.

If small country teams trained their players they could make tons of money. They could possibly have 6 players on NT and U21 teams. They could also save lots of money because most in the country are new managers.
