in my scrimmage (792340) i can not fast forward to a time in the game with any accuracy.

if I type in 40 in the minutes box I am taken to various times in the 2nd quarter (it would be nice to be able to click to start the 2nd , 3rd, or 4th quarter instead of a certain time.



- The fast forward button doesn't jump to the correct minute / second of the game
( also fixed, but not released )

Hello. I don´t know if I have to change my configuration to solve this but the problem is:

When I am watching a match, after 8 or 10 minutes, my mozilla (or explorer, I tried both) stucks and I only can close the window and star again the game.

Another shot clock problem. There have been a few offensive fouls in the game I'm watching now, and each time, the shot clock stayed where it was instead of moving over to the other team's side.

edit: just in case my clarification in post 7 is missed, the possession changed correctly. This is just a presentation issue.

Oh, I should've mentioned that. Yeah, it's just a presentation issue.

I thought it was just happening with offensive fouls, but it also happened during a turnover (traveling). Shot clock didn't move, but the game played correctly.

another match viewer bug for you Oxidus:

There is a phrase there "Player B is substituted for Player A" when player B is coming IN and player A is coming OUT.

It should be "Player A is substituted by Player B" or "Player B substitutes player A"

On the right of the match viewer, all the stuff related to "fast forward" is not well placed:

Hmmm, I don't think so. With no context, that message would make me think the opposite had occurred.

Edit: Thought about this some more. I think the problem is that in can be taken both ways, depending on your frame of reference. I'm a native speaker of (Canadian) English, btw.

In this recipe, margarine is substituted for butter.

That one's pretty hard to misunderstand. You should use margarine, not butter.

David Beckham is substituted.

Now it's 100% clear that the subject (Beckham) is the one being replaced.

David Beckham is substituted for Joe Cole.

A little less clear who's going where, but I think my first reading would that Beckham is out, Cole is in. The role of the two nouns are reversed from the recipe example. This is also the opposite of what it means in the match reports right now, according to the report above.



So, my conclusion would be not to use the phrase "B is substituted for A" in the match reports. It's unclear. Stick with things like "B enters/comes in for A". I'd dump "substitute" as a verb altogether.

With the use of 'for' the verb 'substituted' indicates that the subject (Player is the substitute and therefore has been put in the place of Player A.

So it is correct by looking at what has been said so far. However I do agree it needs to be changed so something less confusing because we have a lot of players who are not native English speakers and will not understand it.

Adding an 'in' could help.
"Player B is substituted in for Player A"
or even better
"Player B is substituted in, replacing Player A"

*shrug* I don't deny that it can be shown to be correct, as you just did. I tried to show that the opposite meaning can also be easily inferred. It's just awkward wording, and I'm glad you agree it should be changed.

P.S. I am a native English speaker, and I find it confusing. Maybe it's a more common non-North-American usage, I don't know.
