I use this mode all the time to help manage minutes and get training in. I play the same player at backup for guard and the same player at backup PF/C. A another player as SF. It is basically and 8 man rotation.

I dual position train pg/sg and this works well. I start the same players in the league games each week and they get 48+ minutes. The back up get around 40 minutes in the league games. The Backup SF starts the scrimmage and the backup guards is his backup in the scrimmage. I also am able to start a player for 48 minutes in the scrimmage.

With this model I am able to train without playing players for 48 minutes in league games. I am not a fan of a player getting 48 minutes in a game. I believe performance drops way off when this happens. Also it allows me to keep the best players on the court. I can have 8 really good players using this method and fill out my team with junk time scrubs.

Nicely put...I do the same thing. My reason isn't because of training but has to do with cash restrictions. So I have a 3 really good bigs..Start two and have the 3rd back the other two up.... I then have a starting PG,SG and SF and I have one back up PG and the other guy subs in for the SG/SF.....I love this system...

Thanks peoples for replying, ill have a play around with the lineups in some Private league games, shouldnt be too difficult, I think ive got the right players for it, so should be ok.

yer i kinda do this already, except my backup big's are different players.

but yer, it will be some modification of that. VERY rarely have my reserve players been used. I dont take into account those positions into training minutes, because its so inconisisnt. Like, maybe two or three times in a year those players set in the reserve positions get used.

maybe other people get it more, but i do find it very rare, so i just ignore it and make sure someone useful is set there.

My biggest challange is that im looking at playing the same guy at SF-PF in the backup position. His stats are all fairly well rounded, but his rebounding sux. Inept i think off the top of my head. im hoping he will pop one or two more times this year, such that i can use him more in this plan.
Same with my player that i want to use at PG-SG, his passing isnt really up to scratch. So im not sure if I will do that with him. I will see how we go.
