I have seen my PG blow up for 59 in RL with patient and there is still 19 team assist
and I also saw SF score 60 and C shoot 3's with it

it isn't such a bad thing having favorable match up and getting the ball there, even if it take most of the shot clock.

That is not true. Just because you don't have a team that can play it does not mean the tactic is useless.

It seems to have zero ball movement, zero shot distribution, and it doesn't even seem to utilize the teams strength. I've seen game ratings where the teams inside scoring is respectable and their outside is inept and the SG ends up taking 40 shots.

What you are describing here is a lack of passing and handling. Patient relies heavily on a passing game trying to find the best shot (mismatch) for the players. When they are unable to do so, the ball handlers are forced to take crappy shots before time expires hence why your SG end up taking 40 shots.

I don't recommend patient be played unless you have a very good offensive flow relative to your league as it is important you are able to get the right players the ball.

My shooting guard does not take 40 shots. I've never played that garbage offense, and my offensive flow is very good. It's averaging Average(low) in division 4. I'm speaking from witnessing other people play it.

I primarily run patient, and I agree on the damage limitation argument, but for a slightly different reason. Compared to the rest of my league, my defense is much stronger, while my offense is similar to weaker teams and below the other top teams. I run patient to make sure my shots count, while holding them down defensively. As a result, I usually win low scoring games.

Check out my games. In my first game, a loss to Powell Wolves, my star player took dozens of shots. This was because I sat most of my best players to make a run at the cup. After that, I still ran Patient, and things have been much more balanced.

i personally didn't have good experience with it, but I strongly disagree that it is the worst offense.

There is actually no "worst offense". It all depends on your team style.

Is there any reason to play Patient if you have a well balanced team with players of relatively equall class? (gameshape was proficient vs mediocre, but still...)
