Strictly Follow Depth Chart: The coach will (usually) play according to your depth chart (starters should get ~30-42 min, backups ~10-14, reserves ~0-6). These numbers will be affected by: Injuries, Foul outs, Blowouts, and Stamina.

Depth Chart Until 4th: The coach will play according to your depth chart, until the 4th quarter. In the 4th, the coach will decide who to play where.

Let Coach Decide: The coach will decide who to play from your selected roster.

Coach Picks From Depth Chart: The coach will decide who to play from your depth chart. (I think he play the players in their proper positions according to the depth chart, but he decides for himself how many minutes each player plays.)

Most managers use Strictly Follow Depth Chart because it give a good number of minutes, and the coach wont mess up training/gameshape.

Thanks guys. But when the coach is deciding is it based on how well the player is playing at that position? Overall value of the player? Does the coach ASSUME that the starter is the best and if we're losing he keeps him in longer even thoguh a backup may actually be much better?

I've found that the coach looks how good a player is at the position he is playing. Also the better the backup is (or worse the starter is) the more minutes the backup gets. I've never seen a backup get more minutes than a starter, but I'm guessing it has happened when games have gone into garbage time.

It happened to me on my last scrimage, the best player was the reserve, but the coach made him play 44 minutes and I needed only 4 for the trainning.... that's why you always choose 'to play according to your choices'. ;)
