about in some way they are advertising in both direction, i personally block them in general with my browser so that facebook don't get to know to much about me ;)

Edit: i mean when it disturbs you, that fb collect your surfing data through it, best block it in general because the ad himself is very small.

i am using firefox with the adblock extension, where you need to ad "http://www.facebook.com/plugins/like.php?*" as a filter.

You also could also block facebook in general when you want, in the host file, for win "%SystemRoot%\system32\drivers\etc\" and in the "/etc" of linux then you had to add "127.0.0.1 www.facebook.com" so all connection get directed to yourself instead of facebook.

You should create new group on facebook and name it "Let's kick FB button out of BB" or something like that. And then You should create Your own button to Your group and add it to Your sites/blogs/galleries/etc and ask friends to do the same. Then You should find 10 thousands people who will click "I like it". There is no other way to delete FB button from BB site.

I can understand why you put them there but as a supporter, I pay to have the pages ad-free which gives it a certain feeling and look.

1. Those aren't advertisements.
2. They're only on ONE page. It's not like the BBs stuck them in every available free spot on the site.

Just as you are not a fan of facebook (I'm not either actually), there are thousands of BB managers that are. These new buttons allow them to share the game with their friends and it might help buzzerbeater out by potentially increasing the amount of users that signup. I think your suggestion asking for the option to hide the buttons is fine, though.

I didn't mean that it's a usual ad ... but I still don't like the look of it popping up here in the BB-site. And I know that probably thousands of managers like facebook and that's just the reason why they put it there. And if we get new managers that way that's nice. But I still don't have to like those buttons. And having an option to hide them would just be nice. Let's see what the BBs have to say on this question. But for now I just did what CrazyEye suggested and now at least I don't see it on my own computer (but I don't know if I can install an ad-blocker on my iphone ...)

I wouldn't be afraid of Facebook collecting your data if you do now actually click the like button and/or don't have an account at all.

We are looking into ways how to integrate them better within the site design and we are looking into maybe adding an option to disable them through preferences.

the i like button is loaded from facebook himself, when i am not wrong so they get my ip for advertising issues everytime you see a page with a i like button(if they change it, and the i like button actually loaded from the bb server with an link to facebook i am sorry to irritate people).

And i am also a facebook user, so they could connect the data to my profile quite easily. Don't know if they do it that way, but i won't bet against it. With blocking the "ii like" they just get the data about me, which they need to run their service.

That is nice to know. It would really nice to have an option to disable them through preferences. And thanks for addressing the issue!

The option to disable the buttons on the logged in page has been added to the preferences.
