Exactly, if they want to lose every game you can't stop them. It requires few seasons and some luck to be stronger after tanking, in that time your team will also develop. I'm almost sure that if you manage your economy in the right way you will be stronger agter that time than "tank-team". It's only my opinion but keep that in mind ;p

Basically teams tanking is just something that is out of your hands, like injuries or the performance of your players. Athough there are ways to slightly control these things, (Increasing the salary floor for tanking teams, better doctors to stop injuries, and manage GS and enthusiasm to help gameplay), in the end sometimes there is just nothing you can do, and this factor helps make BB much more fun and interesting in my opinion.

In NBA this happens quite often actually. Despite having some free salary cap space, some teams don't want to improve their rosters in order to finish low and get a good draft pick. This normally happens with small-market teams when they are in rebuild mode. Of course they don't publicly announce they want to lose as much as possible. Actually in NBA it's not profitable to be a "good, but not great" team because that doesn't get you anywhere: you always get out of playoffs in first-second round, you don't get good draft picks and your players are getting older. Take Atlanta Hawks, for example...

That's why I understand why someone would tank in this game. Last season, I also wanted to be fifth, but I had too much wins and ended up 4th. I lost more money by being 4th than by being 5th.

I mean, can you blame people who tank in order to get more money for next season(s)? Or do you want them to play "fair" and make their team worse in long term? They will say "My team sucks and I don't have any money saved, but I played fair!". I don't think this will happen.

I'm currently training SFs and despite having the possibility to assemble a playoff team, I'm hovering around 5-6th place to save some money for the season when I'll go "all-in" and try to promote. I don't see this as cheating.

IF BB is going to allow cheating then fine. I just think there should be a penalty for not fielding a team. If a team wants to tank then let them. However, if by failing to field [put five scrubs in and play the damn game] a team then the following should apply.

You now choose last in the draft.

No financial compensation. [TV money is divided equally to the remaining human teams].

A fine equal to the base minimum salary, plus avg league income for each game no team is present. [25-0 forfeit]

Automatic regulation to the lowest league in that country at the end of the season.

If BB is making claims to be so against cheating then they need some to have some balls and protect their integrity and put an end to this blatant form of cheating!

Tanking is no cheating. Since you seem to no understand this point, there is no need that this thread remains active
