I disagree! You have to get rewarded for making the play-offs. That's just what you get as a reward, you can do some more training than the others. They have better draft picks. Otherwise what would your advantage be to make the play-offs when you're 4th or 3rd in your conference? Just one game, you don't make money, and have a worse draft pick.

Home and away both get playoff money.

Ok, serious money. Nevertheless, it doesn't make up for what I said.

What exactly are you disagreeing with...

you're talking about 3th and 4th places and the playoff spots. WFU talks about the 5th, 6th and 7th place.

Currently i believe the favored spots to be in is in this order.

1-4 -> 7th -> 6th -> 5th -> 8th.

As you can see 6th and 7th place are better than 5th. As 5th don't get matches at all. 6th and 7th get atleast 2 matches with income.
WFU wants to have this order 1-4 -> 5th -> 6th-7th -> 8th. As it should be...

And as for your point about Playoff spot being a reward. I totally disagree.
You earn your spot in the playoffs, it's an achievement, not a reward.

That those teams that finish outside the PO should get extra games to not be hurt in training. I think it that case you should have made a greater effort at making the PO.

I edited my post. check it out.

It's not PO teams vs non-PO-teams. It's 5th place vs 6th-7th spot.

It's about 6th and 7th being better spots than 5th. Which is not right.
5th spot get no training+no money. 6th and 7th get training and money. And that's what you call rewarding to be 6th-7th over 5th.

Very good proposal.

If I could tack one more change:

Finals, just one game. The first two rounds are knockout, why switch it to best of for the finals? Plus, it's less downtime for the 87.5% of the teams in the game that have to wait them out.

Currently i believe the favored spots to be in is in this order.

1-4 -> 7th -> 6th -> 5th -> 8th.

actually this is only true if you can get into the play-offs finals, if chances are slim you get the finals of the play-offs the list would more look like this:

1-2 (you have a chance for the finals, so good spots, draft will sucjk no matter if you end 1 or 2) -> 7th -> 6th -> 4th -> 3th -> 5th -> 8th.

We'll say that you actually want to be in the playoffs. Meaning that 1-4 is your number one favored spot over any other non-playoff spot.
1-2 doesn't necessarily mean you have a good chance at winning the playoffs. If you base your order entirely on income, then yes your order is partially correct. In your order it says that 4th and 3rd are definitely knockouts, which is not true. Furthermore we put playoffs as a higher priority then income. Therefor 1-4 are greater than any other non-playoff spot. What would you prefer? A shot at the championship or no shot at all? What if someone said to you: "Lord Doom, would you forfeit your playoff spot and take this 200.000 dollars or will you stay in the PO and compete for the championship and possibly earn a bit more or less than 200.000? Oh and i forgot to mention that if you forfeit your spot for the PO, you have a chance to relegate to the previous division...." What would you rather have?

In my opinion, that order still stands.

completely right, except you missed an IF in my post.
I said IF you have no chance to play the finals. (notice I also did not say win the play-offs, just get in the finals).
Ofcourse, 3 and 4 are not chanceless, notice I ended 3rth in my conference last season, and went on to win the play-offs.
I was just speaking in IF terms, and wanted to show the worst possible order that would be preferable for a conference team.

But, I must agree with your post 100%. To answer your question, I do not know. I'd start calculating... but knowing the size of my arena, I probably take the 200k, and then play relegation games wich will make me an other 200 or 300k. ;รพ
