Step two:

Become familiar with the market.

This is not actually so difficult but it is time consuming and, possibly, tedious. It depends on your perspective. As there is no set price that a player will sell for, you have to get good at making educated guesses. The more players you see sell, the more you will have an idea. There is the Transfer Price Estimate, which is a good place to start, but it isn't always accurate.

Furthermore, if you're actually going to Day Trade, you have to consider that the sooner you sell, the larger percentage you lose in transfer fees. I believe the immediate fee is 20%.

Some points to consider:

* Research and learn one type of player at a time. By type, I mean point guards with salary between 10-15k, or shooting guards with at least prominent in jump shot, outside scoring and outside defence. Once you feel comfortable with a type of player, add another type. It's too much for your brain to handle if you try to get a grasp on too many types of players at once.

* When bidding, wait until the last 10-20 seconds. Don't leave it until the last 5 seconds, because I have found on several occasions that with 5 seconds to go, the server can't react in time and the time to bid is over. Be warned that bidding in the last minute really annoys some managers. I recommend they somehow take this aspect out of the game but, for now, it is a strategy to win, so use it.

I'm not a GM, so I can't give definitive answers, but I would ask how you're going to force another manager to buy him.

Can you please rephrase that. I can't work out what you are asking.

Ah fair enough. I didn't understand.

Yes, about this thread... It seems contradictory but I don't really want to encourage Day Trading, but I think if there were many Day Traders, it would remove the negative effect of day trading a bit, due to the balance of the economy.

There's that or the fact that it attracts the attention of the BB gods and they do more to reduce it.

So you're going to spend your own hard earned $$$$ to buy a guy that obviously has a lot of value, then threaten to fire the guy if you don't get your asking price? Even though he'd obviously have value to you and your team?

Personally, I'd be calling your bluff on that one if you tried it. But good luck to you.

u r right

but their stupidity really sabotages our national teams

& u r also right about the cheaper players being a factor

good national teams have players worth millions so only good managers get them

barbados often has players selling for $3-500k who end up in the hands of morons

Same reason Intel tries to smash AMD. Even weak competition is competition...
