Right now, the team in front of you is way better
and so are the top 2 teams in the other conference

I'm not so sure the guy in front of you is completely asleep
he made a deep cup run
his 2 best are for sale right now
(have a look, you'll know their skills)
and he probably has plans to redo his roster as well

You certainly have enough banked to make a run
but save until you have to spend
just before playoffs
no use paying big salaries before you have to

Yeah I took a look. They are beasts!

I guess my final question is, what kind of players should I be looking to buy with my money? Im worried ill blow it on a non-productive team. Do I get some cheap monster big, and a high quality guard? Or a SF and a guard and big? How do I allocate the money to spend it the best?

Okay im currently 2nd in my conference(losing on PD). With my current roster there is no way I will fall below 2nd. So I should be making the semis with ease. My question is should I try and promote this season? I ask because: I currently have 2.57 million dollars in the bank with an economy page looking like:

Player Salaries: $ 115 854 Attendance: $ 177 381
Staff Salaries: $ 6 814 Merchandise: $ 29 540
Scouting: $ 0 TV Contract: $ 81 117
Total: $ 122 668 Total: $ 288 038
Typical Weekly Net Income: $ 165 370

The team beating me has a much stronger roster, but doesnt log in very often and doesnt pay attention to enth and GS too much. While there are a few teams in the other conference with a better roster than mine(not hard since I only have a 115k roster). So should I wait a season or two and keep stockpiling cash until I decide to spend and promote or do I go for it this season?

i would wait another season..using the time for out of position training and takin a huuuuge hit ( all ur money ) in my/ur arena ( most of it lower tier )

Clearly to have a chance you are going to have to beat that team in front of you
If he keeps the line up he has now
that might prove impossible
look at the 2 guards he has up for sale
I'm a league above you guys in 2nd place
and I don't think I could beat him if handled his team right
can't believe he's lost 5 times

You need to monitor his actions and act accordingly at the right time

You can always build your arena when you promote
right now
your middle ticket prices can be jacked
you are selling both out regularly
you have a decent amount of seats for your level

I guess the players need to go because he is out of the cup. Maybe he was breaking even and now makes losses?

@OP
With a budget of 2.75 million, I would definitely reach for promotion. Players are really cheap these days - dont buy before the playoffs, as the prices will go up before the deadline ends. Take your time to scout and scan the market, buy cheap multiskilled players and you will do fine in the playoffs.

I was thinking I buy a dominant SF like:
Jump Shot: stupendous Jump Range: sensational
Outside Def.: marvelous Handling: proficient
Driving: tremendous Passing: wondrous
Inside Shot: tremendous Inside Def.: prolific
Rebounding: prominent Shot Blocking: pitiful
Stamina: pitiful Free Throw: strong

Experience: respectable

or

Jump Shot: prodigious Jump Range: prolific
Outside Def.: marvelous Handling: sensational
Driving: prominent Passing: prodigious
Inside Shot: prolific Inside Def.: wondrous
Rebounding: prominent Shot Blocking: mediocre
Stamina: pitiful Free Throw: strong

Experience: average
which would leave me with around 1 million left and then I can buy a guard and a big. Or would that be a bad decision?

Or even a cheaper guy like:
Jump Shot: marvelous Jump Range: prominent
Outside Def.: prolific Handling: prolific
Driving: sensational Passing: strong
Inside Shot: prolific Inside Def.: prolific
Rebounding: strong Shot Blocking: awful
Stamina: average Free Throw: mediocre

Experience: strong

So that I have more money and salary space for a big and a couple guards.
