I don't know about a cost. I just think that it would be a team that is attached to your team, similar to a youth team. A cost might make it more realistic though. I'd say maybe 200,000 or 300,000 might be a good one. Not so much that new players can't afford it w/o breaking their bank.

Hey D5'ers, there already is a USA D-League and you're in it. ;)
Seriously though, it's more cost effective to get foreign players. The market for USA players is hyper inflated due to high demand. Not just from USA teams either. There's a lot of foreign managers that snatch players and flip them for ridiculous amounts.
That practice would certainly increase with the creation of a specified farming area. They beat us to the punch nearly every time. You should get on the USA offsite to gain access to the homegrown talent in the USA, you'll be impressed.
I, for one, am an advocate for eliminating all salary limits for teams going bot because it would free up some of the high potential players that haven't developed yet. This would increase the talent pool of U21/NT talent and also allow more midlevel USA players to enter the leagues.

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
our bot teams can be the D-League, all you have to do is make a name, and poof! Anyone with me? I also support that we should (in USA) cut the USA cup in half, cause I've heard that 54something teams need in, and we got a little more than that. All we do there is take out the worst USA ranked teams and bingo!
(of course, get 16-17 yr olds.......taake out 21 yr old and older; and no D-League teams can't have more than 10 players........maybe 15, but I don't know what's a reasonable #)

Germany is roughly the same size as the USA in terms of active managers. Anything affecting our setup would also have to change theirs.
There would need to be a limit for what bot teams liquidate. Perhaps a full season played by an active manager (?). Auto-spawned bot teams flooding the market would have pretty adverse effects to player values. That would hurt a lot of the current trainers by devaluing their investments.
This is a great topic you should really take to the offsite. It's really just a matter of time before a know-it-all from one of the micro-nations (less than 100 users) starts in with irrelevant opinions and trolling. Unlike us, they start out making upwards of $200k+ a game when they first get their team. So they're gripes are coming from a whole other perspective.
To get access to the offsite you'll need to send a request to access to Mod-Jfarb here:

Once you're verified as a USA manager you can access the forums here:
http://s3.zetaboards.com/BuzzerBeater_USA_NT/index/
There are great discussions there from a lot of the senior managers in the higher divisions. Also transfer ads, training diaries, and more. Good luck and hope to see you on there.

Don't you mean France. Germany (Deutchland) has 1k users, France just has 1 less hundred users than USA. USA=3000, France=2900 I think Italy has the most users in the world=4200 Spain=3900

I was referring to League structures. That is, the comparative number of D.V, D.IV leagues. I misspoke earier and am not sure how the users break down. Overall structure though would seem to indicate that they are very similar to USA economically, i.e. D.IV German teams make very similar to D.IV USA teams.

Thread revived. Anyways. In the USA, there are 512 Division 6 leagues (did my research) 512x16 in each league=8,192 bot teams (not counting bot teams in D5) theres approximatly 3100 USA teams.....5k left. Revise the USA tournament, and then have the best USA ranked teams compete (I believe that the worst teams don't deserve a chance to compete cause they either tanked in D5, or just don't log into the game) then, Then use the a bot team rule--any teams thats a bot teams for more than 3 months are eligible for a D-League. Then all we do is just assort the leagues based on country rank (same 16 teams in a regular league, just promoting and demoting will be assesed by country rank margin or CRM between this season and last season.) Then, a reasonable price to have a D-League Team is probably 200k. Then, create a team name for it. And there! You have a D-League team. Suggestion; no D-League team can have anyone older than 24 years of age, nor have more than 15 players per roster. D-League games can be played on Sundays and Wednesdays. You can have this training arrangement; PG/SG, PF/C. (left SF out cause they'll either put '''train SF with guards''' or '''train SF with bigs''' on the training page) anyone with me. I know Wednesdays and Sundays may be unreasonable, but those are the only two days I can think of.
PS; please correct me if anything is wrong

+1 for the massive effort.
I just went to watch the D-fenders (Lakers' D-League Team) play a few weeks back and thought about this.
I don't know if the trend for new users is rising or not in the US but there seems to a consistent increase in new managers spawning in D.IV.

Did my research. about 3120 total teams in all (if we spew a whole bunch of new teams) counted 110 of 212 d5 leagues (cause half of em are bot) counted all d4 and up leagues. still, even if we hit 3600 USA users, we're still fine with the D-League. Even we can probably still have the full USA cup with 8192 bot teams......
EDIT; Thanks Perpete, ddn't notice the post there......
