I've started playing Run and Gun and Push the Ball after someone has told me that they are good tactics for teams with a low Offensive Flow and fair shooters (especially Run and Gun), since my PG wasn't so good at that time.
Now that I have a very good PG, I wondered if I can play other skills.
By the way,
regarding stamina, I have two good players at any position, so I don't mind playing fast as most players on my team never gets more than 25-28 minutes per game

So are you saying when the offensive flow is ok, or better than your oppontent, its not a bad idear to play a slow style? Because you should use the good quality of the shots?

could you take a look at my last game? You think i should play a slow style?

That's why I opened this thread - I'm not sure...
I believe the team must have a fair offensive flow in order to play slow effectively (otherwise 90% of your shots would be on the 24 seconds buzzer), but I'm not sure it's enough. I'm also not sure what level of Offensive flow would be sufficient to play slow.

Concerning low-post my personal opinion is:
- quite good offensive flow (or you get plenty of turnovers and won't get better shots)
- good passing of outside players
- reasonable jumper of inside players

thanks,
Very interesting observation. How can you tell that the JS for inside players makes a difference in this tactic? Does it mean it involves more half range jumpers?

well, I normally play inside offensive tactics and my observations come from comparing look inside and low-post. I have no clue about the shot distribution of inside players when playing motion or run&gun.

This said, yes, as you say I think low post involves more half range jumpers. And not only for inside players. A great C with no jumper will perform better with look inside. A guard with poor driving/inside shot will perform better with low post.

This is just my experience. Maybe roosters with different combination of players skills apply the same tactic in a different ways :)

Thanks a lot for the detailed explanation.
I hope to get such great points of view on the other tactics.

Well,

Tried playing low-post. (2422025)
Went pretty bad... only 11 assists, bad FGP.
Maybe the opponents FCP ruined it.

Well, it was a tight game, but I would not blame low-post too much.

- FCP is more effective with slow tactics (15 TO seem reasonable).
- Your assists only came from 3 players (try to answer why).
- Your opponent made 10-17 3FG (2-3 defense has not paid).
- Poor FT for you, only 13-28.

Still, 37-81 2FG with average high vs inept medium... have you noticed at what seconds where your players taking most of the shots? If they were often taken in the last 2 seconds the shots are probably low probability and low-post did not pay off.

Hope this help :)

Of course it does.
When you've stated that FCP is more effective with slow tactics, did you mean from the presser side? If I had played Look Inside, would i have less TOs?

Regarding the second the shots were taken, I've watched the second half only and most shots were taken at the last 5 seconds, among them were some last seconds.
What bugged me the most, which is not Low-Post's fault was that my team missed most second chance attempts.

Well, I guess trying a new tactic on the hardest match in the season is not wise - but I've prepared my self for a loss anyway and tried to surprise him...

Exactly. Roughly speaking, the longer you have the ball in your hands, the more opportunity your opponent will have to steal it from you :)
